On October 27, 2025, the NEUST Atate Campus held a meaningful mental health awareness campaign titled โ€œPagyabong ng Phoenix: Mental Health Promotions and Su***de Prevention Campaign.โ€ The event aimed to strengthen awareness and support for the emotional and psychological well-being of students.

Organized by the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) in collaboration with the Guidance and Counseling Office (GCO), the program was led by Mr. Crisanto D. De Jesus, OSAS Chair and Guidance Counselor.

Guest speaker Mr. Richard C. Arambulo delivered an inspiring message, reminding everyone that โ€œstrength is not about pretending you're okay all the time.โ€ He emphasized that mental health matters just as much as physical health, and that real strength means embracing vulnerability, acknowledging struggles, and continuing to move forward.

After the advocacy session, the organization prepared a de-stressing activity for students โ€” giving them a chance to unwind, express themselves freely, and take a short pause to rest and recharge from the stress of academic life. It served as a gentle reminder that rest is also a form of self-care and strength.

To mark the end of ๐’๐ฎ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐๐ž ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก and welcome the beginning of ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐Œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก, the Atate Peer Organization held a meaningful activity titled "๐——๐—ผ๐—ป'๐˜ ๐—•๐—ฒ ๐—”๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—”๐˜€๐—ธ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฝ." This initiative aimed to promote openness, support, and mental well-being among students.

As part of the event, the organization also set up a Freedom Wall, where participants were invited to respond to the question: "๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ž๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฒ?" Students actively took part, sharing uplifting thoughts and experiences that fostered a sense of community and encouragement. In addition, the Atate Peer Facilitators prepared free lollipops tied with a ribbon of hope, each accompanied by motivational quotes, also the Atate Peer handed out stickers with uplifting messages to inspire and support their peers throughout the day.

In line with the celebration of World Mental Health Awareness Month, an orientation for the new Atate Peer Facilitators was also conducted. During the session, ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜, ๐—ฆ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜†๐—ป ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฟ spoke about the organization's advocacy, the importance of commitment, and the responsibilities that come with being a peer facilitator. To close the activity, the new members were asked to share a word that best represents who they areโ€”something they could also pass on to others as a source of inspiration.
