A new chapter in Rotary service unfolded on February 23, 2025, as Metro Boracay, the Satellite Rotary Club of Kalibo, was officially launched at The Tides Hotel, Boracay. This milestone marks Rotary’s expansion in Aklan, bringing together passionate leaders dedicated to Service Above Self in one of the world’s most iconic destinations.

The inaugural event was honored by the virtual presence of District Governor Richard "Voting" T. Centino, who inspired the attendees with a heartfelt address to the newly satellite club and its sponsoring entity, RC Kalibo. The occasion was further enriched by contributions from Past District Governors James L. Makasiar and Oliver N. Ong, who shared their extensive knowledge and insights on Rotary's mission, values, and far-reaching impact via Zoom.

A pivotal highlight of the event was the formal induction of Metro Boracay's satellite officers and members. This ceremony marked the commencement of their committed journey within Rotary. With their affirmed dedication, Metro Boracay is now set to spearhead sustainable and service-oriented initiatives aimed at benefiting Boracay and its wider community.

One hundred and twenty years ago, Paul Harris and a few visionary friends took a single yet profound step—coming together in fellowship with the shared purpose of serving others. Today, as we celebrate the 120th Anniversary of Rotary International and World Understanding and Peace Day, we honor the legacy of service that has shaped communities and transformed lives across the globe. OZAMIZ CITY, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – History is in the making for Rotary International District 3850 as it prepares to hold its first-ever District Conference (DISCON) outside its vicinity. With Waterfront Hotels and Casinos, Lahug, Cebu City, set as the venue, the upcoming DISCON 2025 is envisioned to be a world-class event, blending prestige, excellence, and unforgettable experiences for every Rotarian in attendance.

In preparation for this milestone, a strategic meeting was held at Bethany Gardens Hotel and Resort, Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental, bringing together key figures and decision-makers to lay the groundwork for what is expected to be one of the most remarkable district conferences in District 3850 history.

At the helm of the discussions was District Governor Richard “Voting” T. Centino, who, alongside Mr. Ritchell Anthony Mendoza, a renowned Cebu-based event coordinator, meticulously reviewed the contract, deliberated on critical event details, and visualized the overall production of the conference. Mendoza’s presence underscored the significance of the event, as he traveled from Cebu to Ozamiz solely for this engagement. Also present were members of the Rotary Club of Ozamiz North, actively contributing insights and perspectives to ensure that every aspect of the conference aligns with Rotary’s values and aspirations. The meeting was presided over by Atty. Nicole Villanueva-Yu, who provided structure and direction to the discussions.

The session revolved around three core objectives: ensuring a seamless and well-executed program, curating a grand and memorable production featuring world-class performances, and creating an event that would be etched in District 3850’s history. The team envisioned an experience that transcends expectations, offering attendees not just a conference but a transformative and immersive Rotary gathering.

In an official announcement, District Governor Richard “Voting” T. Centino has reminded all Rotary clubs within the district to ensure that their newly inducted members are duly registered in the club portal. This registration serves as the definitive basis for determining the number of complimentary registrations allocated to each club for the forthcoming District Conference (DISCON) 2025.

As of today, January 10, 2025, the 3-is-to-1 registration promotional period has officially concluded. Clubs are further advised that January 15, 2025, has been set as the final deadline for the registration of new members in the portal. Any registrations made beyond this date will not be considered for credit towards the promo or associated benefits.

Clubs are strongly urged to comply with this timeline to avoid any discrepancies or forfeiture of entitlements. This directive underscores the district’s commitment to maintaining accurate records and ensuring equitable allocation of conference privileges.

Esteemed Rotary Greetings from the Office of the District 3850 Governor for the 2024-2025 Rotary Year!

District 3850 Governor Richard "Voting" Centino for the Rotary Year 2024-2025 is pleased to announce the district's continued growth in membership. Governor Centino extends his sincere appreciation to the exceptional leaders within the district for their unwavering commitment to Rotary's Thrusts and Goals.

Within a span of just under five months since assuming office, Governor Centino is proud to report that District 3850 has already exceeded the membership goal set by Rotary International President Stephanie A. Urchick. While President Urchick's mandate was to welcome at least 100 new members, the district has surpassed expectations, gaining 167 new members to date.

At the commencement of the Rotary year on July 1, 2024, the district had 1,347 members. As of December 28, 2024, membership has risen to 1,514 – an achievement that reflects the district's dedication to expanding its reach and impact. Governor Centino also believes there may be additional members whose information has yet to be fully updated in the Rotary International system.

To ensure accurate reporting, the Governor encourages all club leaders across District 3850 to regularly monitor and update their club membership status through the Rotary International portal.

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿'𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆

What began as a humble and uncertain beginning before the start of my term as District Governor has now transformed into a fulfilling and meaningful journey. Initially, there was hesitation in embracing the challenges and responsibilities of this role. However, the unwavering support and camaraderie of Rotarians across the district have propelled me to take on this mission with renewed vigor and determination.

For the past five months, I have had the privilege of traversing the entirety of District 3850, engaging with clubs, listening to your concerns, celebrating your achievements, and sharing updates on our collective progress. It has been a period of immense learning and inspiration, as we aim to elevate our district to greater heights in alignment with Rotary International’s mission and values.

Each place I visited left a profound connection within me—one that will forever be embedded in my soul. The panoramic views, the vibrant cultures, the unique traditions, and the delectable delicacies of each destination created an experience that was as enriching as it was unforgettable. These journeys not only broadened my perspective but also deepened my appreciation for the incredible diversity that unites us under the banner of District 3850.

This journey would not have been possible without the tireless and wholehearted contributions of so many remarkable individuals and groups. To the esteemed District Committees, whose strategic guidance has been instrumental in steering our activities; to the Assistant Governors, who have provided steadfast leadership at every level; to the Club Presidents, whose vision and commitment have driven impactful programs within their communities; and to the Rotaractors, Interactors, Past District Governors, and other involved sectors in the community who have infused every event with vibrant energy and optimism—your dedication is the cornerstone of our success.

I am especially grateful to all those who extended their warm hospitality and support during each Governor’s Visit. Your heartfelt welcome, the meaningful conversations, and the genuine connections have made every stop a celebration of service, fellowship, and shared purpose. Moreover, the thoughtful presents offered during these visits were deeply appreciated. They serve as profound symbols of the bonds we share and a testament to the unity and generosity that define our D3850 family.

As we move forward, let us continue to work together to uphold the values of Rotary and create a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve. Together, we are stronger, and we will achieve irresistible things.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹—On December 6, 2024, District Governor Richard "Voting" T. Centino concluded his extensive visitation at the Rotary Club of Metro Bacolod, where they embraced the summer breeze during the yuletide season.

During the formal assembly, the club presented notable achievements from the first half of the Rotary Year, highlighting their efforts to expand individual opportunities beyond the four corners of the community.

As the governor provided updates on the District’s status, members were impressed by his comprehensive knowledge of the district's milestones. This demonstrated that the district is moving towards a brighter future, with the governor affirming that every Rotarian is irresistible in their unique Rotary ways.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹—On December 6, 2024, District Governor Richard "Voting" T. Centino conducted his long-awaited club visitation. His inaugural stop was at the Rotary Club of Bacolod East, a well-known and esteemed chapter within the Rotary network. The visit marked a significant event, as it highlighted the club's dedication to fostering inclusivity and service.

During this visit, a notable highlight was the induction of a new Rotarian. This new member chose to join the Rotary Club of Bacolod East due to the profound sense of belonging and the shared commitment to altruism he felt within the club. This decision underscores Rotary's appeal and its ability to attract individuals who are deeply committed to giving back to their community.

The new Rotarian’s journey into Rotary began with a search for a platform where inclusivity and community service are paramount. The club’s welcoming environment and the shared value of “Service Above Self” resonated strongly with the new member, leading to the choice of Rotary as the flagship organization for undertaking generous initiatives.
