Gahapon, nitawag sa amo ang gaiyak nga wife nangayo og tabang para sa iyang pito ka rescued dogs.
These dogs have been with her for more than five years. Sila iyang mga rescues nga iyang gipakaon, giatiman, gipavaccine, ug gipadeworm sulod sa mga katuigan. The wife herself has been a dedicated animal welfare advocate who has rescued and cared for more dogs than we can imagine.
But now, she is facing a situation nga dili niya gusto mahitabo.
Her husband was an OFW for 25 years. Ever since he came home last year, things drastically changed and affected his mental health. He has been experiencing depression, anxiety, and sometimes hallucinations, and for about a year now, he has been seeking help from professionals.
Then one night, migawas siya gikan sa iyang room. Nakakita siya og usa sa mga dogs and thought the dog was attacking him.
But the dog was not attacking him.
He kicked the dog, and napaakan siya in the process, leaving him with more than 15 scratches.
The incident resulted in the family paying more than โฑ6,000 for 19 shots of vaccination.
Afterwards, he called his parents and told them what happened in an overexaggerated explanation.
And their suggestion?
I-dispose ang mga iro. Or better yet, i-surrender sila sa dog pound sa Ozamiz nga tulo ra ka adlaw na sila didtoa taman.
Imagine being the person who rescued and cared for these dogs for more than five years, only to be told that the animals you have loved and protected should now be disposed of or surrendered.
We understand that this is a difficult family situation.
We are not here to blame the husband or invalidate what he is going through. His struggles are real, and he has been seeking professional help.
But these seven dogs are innocent, too.
They did not ask for this situation. They did not understand what happened that night. And they should not lose their lives because of it.
That is why we are now looking for responsible adopters from Ozamiz City and nearby areas who are willing to give these dogs a second chance.
They are already about to reach their senior years. They are not puppies anymore, but they have been regularly vaccinated and dewormed and have been cared for by their owner for years.
We know that adopting older dogs may not be everyone's first choice.
But these seven dogs have already spent more than five years with the same person.

We are looking for adopters who are genuinely prepared for the responsibility, not someone who will take them out of pity today and surrender them again tomorrow.
If you cannot adopt all seven, even giving one of them a safe and loving home can already make a difference.
And if you cannot adopt, please share this post. Maybe the person who can give one of these dogs a second chance is already in Ozamiz, we just haven't reached them yet.
Because the alternative being suggested is the Ozamiz City dog pound, where their future is uncertain. With the 3-day holding period, they could eventually be put down for good.
