— Alleluia, Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose birth marks a beautiful moment in God’s plan of salvation. Chosen to be the Mother of our Savior, Mary’s life became a living testimony of faith, humility, obedience, and complete trust in God.

Her nativity reminds us that God prepares the way for His promises to be fulfilled. Through Mary’s faithful yes, Christ, the Light of the World, came among us. May her example inspire us to embrace God’s calling with courage, serve with love, and remain faithful in every season of our lives.

Let us honor our Blessed Mother with prayer and thanksgiving:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen. 🙏

Happy Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary! 💙

ARAW NG MGA BAYANI — August 31, 2026 🇵🇭
‎
‎"Ang mamatay nang dahil sa 'yo."
‎— Lupang Hinirang
‎
‎Today, we commemorate National Heroes Day — a day to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering love for country shown by our national heroes, from the earliest indigenous defenders to the revolutionaries and modern-day heroes who gave their lives for our freedom and sovereignty.
‎
‎They fought not for glory, but for the dream of a free, just, and united Philippines. Their bravery paved the way for the nation we know today. May we always remember their legacy and continue to live out the values they fought for — patriotism, service, and love for our fellow Filipinos.
‎

‎
‎Today, we remember Benigno “Ninoy” Simeon Aquino Jr., the opposition leader and democracy icon whose assassination on this day in 1983 ignited the nation's struggle for freedom and eventually led to the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.
‎
‎A journalist and politician who served as mayor of Concepcion, vice governor, and governor of Tarlac before becoming a senator, Ninoy was one of the first arrested when martial law was declared in 1972. He endured seven years of imprisonment before being allowed to travel to the US for medical treatment.
‎
‎Despite repeated warnings that he would be killed or imprisoned if he returned, Ninoy came home to continue fighting for democracy. On August 21, 1983, he was gunned down on the tarmac of Manila International Airport (now NAIA) moments after stepping off his flight.
‎
‎His famous line, “The Filipino is worth dying for,” comes from his August 4, 1980 speech at the Asia Society in New York, where he said:
‎
‎“I have carefully weighed the virtues and the faults of the Filipino, and I have come to the conclusion that he is worth dying for because he is the nation’s greatest untapped resource.”
‎
‎Today, Ninoy Aquino Day is an official national special non-working holiday under Republic Act No. 9256, enacted in 2004, to commemorate his death anniversary and honor his sacrifice.
‎
‎May his legacy continue to inspire every Filipino to stand for truth, justice, freedom, and love for our country.
