The Guidance Office successfully held its Career Guidance Program this afternoon. It was an insightful session dedicated to helping our students reflect, plan, and prepare for life after college.
Our first speaker, Ms. Jeah Alvarez, RAgr., shared her talk "The Wonderful Me: Do I Have What It Takes?" She encouraged students to assess their strengths, values, and passions. She emphasized that knowing yourself is the first step in choosing a career path where you can truly thrive, whether that’s in agriculture, science, entrepreneurship, public service, or any field you choose to pursue. She also encouraged everyone to prepare and aim for the board exam as one key step toward professional growth.
Next, Mr. Joemel Labrador, MSA, RAgr., discussed "The Greatest Impact: The Job that Pays for a Better Future." Beyond career choices, he stressed the importance of building good relationships and maintaining a positive attitude. He encouraged students to reconcile with classmates they may have had misunderstandings with this school year, because the people we grow with today may be the colleagues, partners, or mentors we work with tomorrow. He reminded everyone that technical skills get you hired, but attitude and character determine how far you go. He also urged students to take the board exam, highlighting how it opens doors to greater opportunities and impact. A fulfilling career balances personal growth, financial stability, and contribution to the community.
Through the Career Decision Making Difficulty Survey and the open forums, students were able to voice their concerns, ask questions, and gain clarity about their next steps after graduation.
We sincerely thank our resource speakers for their time, wisdom, and encouragement to pursue licensure, Ms. Ma. Wilma M. Maravilla, MAEd, RGC, for facilitating the program, and Ms. Flordeliza U. Ampusta for her closing message. To all BSA students who participated actively, thank you for showing up for your future.
The choices we make today are the seeds we plant for tomorrow. May we choose paths that allow us to grow, build strong relationships, pass the board, and succeed with integrity in whatever field we enter.
