The Graduate School faculty successfully undertook their Industry Exposure Program from February 19 to 22, 2026 gaining valuable firsthand insights into innovative practices in agriculture, aquaculture, governance and technology-enabled development.

The exposure included a visit to CAPSU Burias–Mambusao, where faculty members explored agrometeorology and bioengineering initiatives that demonstrated how research-driven innovations support climate-resilient and sustainable agricultural systems. Engagements at the Aklan Agri-Aqua Demonstration Farm and Training Center further highlighted integrated agri-aqua production models, technology adoption and training programs that strengthen local food systems and community capacity.

Faculty members also engaged with the Provincial Government of Aklan, an SGLG awardee, where discussions centered on effective local governance practices, performance-based management and development-oriented service delivery. The exchange provided meaningful insights into how evidence-based policies and institutional collaboration contribute to sustainable local development.

The industry exposure concluded at the Aklan Innovators Hub Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) at Aklan State University, a collaborative initiative of ASU, DTI and the Provincial Government. The FabLab showcased how innovation hubs and fabrication facilities support entrepreneurship, research utilization and technology transfer, reinforcing the role of higher education institutions in regional innovation ecosystems.

Overall, the industry exposure significantly enriched faculty perspectives, strengthened the relevance of instruction and research and supported faculty development and accreditation requirements, affirming the SUNN Graduate School’s commitment to excellence, innovation and meaningful engagement with industry and government partners.
