𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟴 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝗨𝗽 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀

The 12th National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF) reached its grand conclusion at the West Visayas State University Cultural Center on the evening of April 11, 2026. Among the 18 competing regions, Region VIII (Eastern Visayas) distinguished itself by being declared the Overall 3rd Runner-Up, a prestigious placement that cements the region’s status as a national powerhouse in the arts.

The closing program served as the final stage for delegations from across the country to celebrate a week of artistic excellence. While Region III (Central Luzon) took the top spot, followed by Region VI and the National Capital Region, the ascent of a Victorious PASUC 8 to the 4th overall position highlighted the exceptional caliber of talent originating from the Eastern Visayas.

In the wake of the announcement, Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) President and PASUC 8 Chairperson Prof. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr. issued a stirring message of pride regarding the region's 3rd Runner-Up finish. Prof. Cañezo emphasized that this victory was a beautiful weaving of worthiness, representing the combined labor, talent, and cultural pride of the entire academic community.

Prof. Cañezo extended a "grateful thank you" to all SUC 8 Presidents and the Cultural Directors, specifically citing the strategic leadership of Dr. Nelson Napoles Enage. The President also noted that the seamless collaboration among the various state universities in the region created a "symphony of support" that allowed their artists to shine on the national stage.

He further emphasized that this national podium finish was a collective triumph, acknowledging the vital contributions of coaches, trainers, and chaperones who served as the backbone of the delegation. The highest commendation was reserved for the student-contestants, whom he described as "beacons of cultural heritage" whose dedication ensured that the Victorious PASUC 8 stood among the top four delegations in the nation.

As the festival ended, the success of the Great PASUC 8 contingent remained a focal point, illustrating the region's commitment to promoting Filipino identity through the competitive spirit of the NCAF.

𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 | Region 8 emerged as 3rd runner-up in the recently conducted National Culture and Arts Festival (NCAF) hosted by West Visayas State University last April 8-11, 2026.

Scoring an impressive 116 points, the Eastern Visayas delegation clinched the top 4 spot among 16 competing regions across the Philippines.

Notably, Region 8's NCAF performance this year records a major improvement from its 8th overall ranking during the 2024 NCAF at the Philippine Normal University.

𝗡𝘄𝗦𝗦𝗨 𝘄𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗖 𝗡𝗖𝗔𝗙 2026, 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀

ILOILO CITY — Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) concluded its stint in the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF) 2026 with two major awards, held from April 8-11.

Representing Region VIII, Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English students Alyzza Grace Errojo and Cristel Conarco secured top finishes in their respective events. Errojo clinched 2nd place in the Dramatic Monologue (English), while Conarco earned 3rd place in the Oratorio competition.

The NwSSU delegation was composed of 46 participants who competed in various categories throughout the national festival.

In the overall tally, Region VIII placed 4th among participating regions with 116 points.

The NwSSU delegation is scheduled to return home on April 15.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞:The closing ceremony of the 12th PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF) 2026 concluded this April 11, held at West Visayas State University (WVSU) Cultural Center, Iloilo City.

The event marks the end of four days of competitions among delegates from 17 regions across the country, showcasing talent and creativity, to celebrate artistic excellence, cultural pride, and their shared experiences throughout the festival.

LNU’s Leandrew Advincula wins first place at the Instrumental Solo Piano competition of PASUC NCAF 2026 day 3, held at WVSU Cultural Center earlier today, April 10.

This win brings Region 8’s gold medals to a total of four.

Eastern Visayas talents from LNU landed podium finishes in Oral Interpretation of Poetry (2nd), Vocal Duet (2nd), Vocal Solo Kundiman (3rd), and Standard Chorale (4th) competitions held yesterday, April 9.

The medals bring Region 8 to the third spot of the PASUC NCAF standings.
