103rd (LU) RRIBn Mobilizes Agencies to Join Nation-wide Blood Donation Activity in Celebration of Philippine Army’s 128th Anniversary
In the said activity, the 103rd (LU) Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) mobilizes forces to join the nation-wide Blood Donation Activity collecting a total of 246 units of blood on March 8, 2025 at the La Union Convention Center, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union. The activity was also in time for the scheduled 103rd Ready Reserve Unit Mustering.
Gracing the event was 103rd RRIBn Battalion Commander LTC FRANCISCO EMMANUEL R ORTEGA III PA (RES) who inspired the participants on the importance of mobilization and making meaningful actions in time or peace. He emphasized the on alignment in the 103rd RRIBn to the Philippine Army as well as alignment to God.
Acting RRIBn Battalion Commander LTC NARCHITO S ARPILLEDA PA (RES) also emphasized how heroic is the act of blood donation in extending lives of others and its benefits, moreso with the sense of belonging. Meanwhile, 103rd Community Defense Center Director COL RAMONITO C TABOY FS (GSC) PA discussed on upcoming training schedules while giving reminders on proper PA reservist conduct and on wearing of uniform.
Joining the blood donor PA reservists were donors volunteers from the Reserve Officers' Training Corps of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - Mid-La Union Campus and Cicosat Colleges; Philippine Coast Guard Station La Union; Philippine National Police La Union Police Provincial Office; and civilian volunteer donors.
The blood donation activity was conducted in partnership with the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC); Provincial Government of La Union; 50th Infantry (DEFENDER) Battalion, 5ID, PA; Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative; Armed Forces & Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc.; Air Materiel Wing Savings and Loan Association, Inc.; Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, Inc.; ABSCBN; Apo and Eagles.
The collected bags of blood was turned over to the ITRMC to extend lives of those in need of blood.
