We, the DOST Bicol Scholars’ INtegrated Governing Council of Organizations (SINGCO), together with our Scholars’ Association Organizations (SAOs), stand in firm solidarity with the Filipino people in denouncing and exposing corruption in our government.

As scholars whose education is made possible through the hard-earned taxes of the Filipino people, we recognize that silence in the face of corruption is complicity. It is our duty and moral responsibility to rise, speak out, and take a firm stand against corrupt practices that rob our nation of dignity and progress.

Corruption is not just a political issue—it is a betrayal of every Filipino whose hope and future are stolen, stifling innovation, education, and the dreams of generations.

Every peso lost to corruption is a stolen dream: a student denied education, a researcher stripped of resources, a patient deprived of life-saving care, and a community hindered from thriving. WE REFUSE TO TURN A BLIND EYE. As beneficiaries of the people’s trust and investment, we pledge to be vigilant, vocal, and relentless in holding the corrupt accountable. We will never remain silent in the face of injustice.

We call on fellow youth, scholars, and citizens: let us not be afraid to demand transparency and integrity from those who lead. Let us raise our voices louder than the whispers of corruption—for silence only empowers the corrupt.

Corruption thrives in darkness. Together, we must shed light. Together, let us amplify the call: Hold the corrupt accountable. Protect the people’s trust. Demand justice. Uphold integrity for the nation’s future.

This past 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, DOST-SEI scholars from across Camarines Sur gathered at the LRV Atrium, CBSUA-Pili for the 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬’ 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. Through dynamic talks and team-building activities, scholars honed their skills as servant-leaders committed to nation-building.

The day-long event ignited passion and purpose through powerful talks and engaging activities. The morning opened with Ms. Marianne Pontanilla, challenging scholars to reflect on their privilege and responsibility during her session "What Does It Mean to Be a DOST Scholar?" Throughout the day, participants were also fortunate to receive valuable insights from two additional keynote talks: RD John Antonmel D. Borcelis' inspiring "You as a Scholar Leader" and Ms. Cristine R. Refuerzo's moving discourse on "Servant Leadership & Patriotism." These intellectual highlights and reflection sessions created a transformative experience that deepened scholars' commitment to nation-building.

Empowered by 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓-𝐒𝐄𝐈, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓-𝐕, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐂𝐎, this training reaffirmed our commitment to serve Beyond Science and Technology – proving that true leadership begins with service.
