Yuri writes straight from the heart and, every now and then, from the wild lives of his friends. His songs carry the stories, feelings, and little moments that somehow become bigger once they’re put into words and shared with a room.

si_Lelard tells stories of love in a place called Pandanan, an older designation of his birthplace. With his economical guitar and old barong, he will try not to make a mess.

Meet one of our Guest Storytellers for Chapter 5 🌿

Khaley Dela Rama is a registered social worker, writer, and performance poet from Dipolog City, now based in Cavite. She writes poetry that explores humanity, social realities, and the everyday experiences of Filipinos. Her work has been published in Masticadores Magazine, and she is also a member of DIPAG INK and LAYA Philippines, where she continues to use literature and performance to amplify stories that inspire reflection, truth, and hope.

We’re honored to have Khaley join us for Spoken from the South: Chapter 5 — Taking Shape, where we’ll gather to celebrate the stories, people, and moments that continue to shape who we are.

What began as a single gathering has slowly grown into a community where stories are heard, friendships are formed, and creativity finds a home.

On August 29, Spoken from the South returns with Chapter 5 — Taking Shape. This chapter celebrates the moments that shape us, the people who help us grow, and the spaces that remind us we don’t have to do it alone.

One room. A circle of strangers.

By the end of the night, they left as part of a community.

Southside Sessions Vol. II brought together storytellers from across the South—poets, musicians, writers, and listeners—to share, witness, and connect. Through poems still being revised, songs shared for the first time, stories finally told, and the simple act of listening, strangers found a place to belong.

Thank you to everyone who performed, listened, donated, and filled the room with your presence. You didn’t just attend an event—you helped grow a community.

A heartfelt thank you to Harvest Tea Room for opening your doors and helping us create a home for South storytellers.

Here’s to continuing to grow this community and creating more safe third spaces across the South—one room, one story, one session at a time.
