As we celebrate the feast of St. Mark the Evangelist, the Calabrian Family gathered today at the CCF–Home for Girls in Brgy. Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City to celebrate the birthdays of children, staff, and members of the Calabrian Family born in the month of April.

The activity began with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Miller John Masillones, PSDP. In his homily, he invited the children to share the Good News with their respective families, relatives, and friends as they go on vacation, especially the blessings they have received through the generous people whom God has chosen to continue His mission of love.

This was followed by a simple program featuring dance presentations by the staff, benefactors, and children of the Calabrian Family. Through this activity, the children were encouraged to express gratitude for the gift of life and to strengthen their relationships with one another.

The sharing of food and joyful interaction concluded the celebration, making it a meaningful and memorable event for everyone present.

On April 09, 2026, the Calabrian Family in CDO gathered at the Calabrian Children’s Foundation – Home for Boys for the celebration of Summer Camp 2026, a meaningful activity filled with faith, learning, sports, and fellowship.

The program opened with championship games in basketball and volleyball, where Team Love was crowned Basketball Champion and Team Hope as Volleyball Champion, highlighting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. A Quiz Bee on Science, Mathematics, and Biblical Knowledge followed, promoting learning and healthy competition.

During the Mr. and Ms. CCF presentation, children impressed with recycled-material outfits. Team Hope was crowned Ms. CCF, while Team Love was Mr. CCF. A touching moment was when a candidate shared her dream of finishing her studies and returning as a benefactor. Before the awarding, children also offered flowers to the staff as a sign of gratitude.

All participants received recognition, with Team Hope as Overall Champion, followed by Team Love as 1st Runner-Up and Team Faith as 2nd Runner-Up. As St. John Calabria said, “The children are the treasure and gems of our congregation.”

The event was further enriched by an inspirational message from former CCF girl, Isabel Caturan, a registered nurse now working at Maria Reyna Hospital. She shared her journey as a former resident of CCF, encouraging the children to stay hopeful, work hard, and trust in God’s plan. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the religious sisters and brothers, house parents, and former social worker of the Home for Girls, who became bridges in fulfilling her dreams.
We extend our gratitude to the staff, volunteers, judges, and supporters for making the activity successful.

Today, we began our day with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Randy Lingo, PSDP, Home for Boys Center Head. In his homily, he reminded us that God never loses hope and always continues to love us. Sometimes we—house parents, kuya, or ate—may lose patience, but God never does.

The day continued with exciting activities that strengthened teamwork, creativity, and fun among the children, staff, and religious of the Calabrian Family.

In the evening, the children, staff, and religious of the Calabrian Children’s Foundation expressed their devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary by praying the Holy Rosary. 🙏

Following the example of our founder, St. John Calabria, who had a deep devotion to her, we also included in our prayers all the people who continue to support us in the mission entrusted to us by God.
