On April 09, 2026, the Calabrian Family in CDO gathered at the Calabrian Children’s Foundation – Home for Boys for the celebration of Summer Camp 2026, a meaningful activity filled with faith, learning, sports, and fellowship.
The program opened with championship games in basketball and volleyball, where Team Love was crowned Basketball Champion and Team Hope as Volleyball Champion, highlighting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. A Quiz Bee on Science, Mathematics, and Biblical Knowledge followed, promoting learning and healthy competition.
During the Mr. and Ms. CCF presentation, children impressed with recycled-material outfits. Team Hope was crowned Ms. CCF, while Team Love was Mr. CCF. A touching moment was when a candidate shared her dream of finishing her studies and returning as a benefactor. Before the awarding, children also offered flowers to the staff as a sign of gratitude.
All participants received recognition, with Team Hope as Overall Champion, followed by Team Love as 1st Runner-Up and Team Faith as 2nd Runner-Up. As St. John Calabria said, “The children are the treasure and gems of our congregation.”
The event was further enriched by an inspirational message from former CCF girl, Isabel Caturan, a registered nurse now working at Maria Reyna Hospital. She shared her journey as a former resident of CCF, encouraging the children to stay hopeful, work hard, and trust in God’s plan. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the religious sisters and brothers, house parents, and former social worker of the Home for Girls, who became bridges in fulfilling her dreams.
We extend our gratitude to the staff, volunteers, judges, and supporters for making the activity successful.
