⚠️ 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗥𝗨𝗦 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: 𝗚𝗟𝗢𝗕𝗔𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗧

Health authorities worldwide continue to monitor recent Hantavirus cases linked to international travel, with confirmed and suspected infections reportedly associated with countries including Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Switzerland, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

Hantavirus is a rare but potentially life-threatening disease commonly transmitted through exposure to infected rodents, particularly their urine, droppings, or saliva. Severe cases may develop into Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), a condition that can cause serious respiratory complications.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀:
• Fever and chills
• Muscle pain and fatigue
• Headache
• Nausea or dizziness
• Shortness of breath

Health experts continue to remind the public to observe proper sanitation, maintain clean surroundings, avoid rodent exposure, and ensure proper ventilation in enclosed spaces.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) stated that there are currently no recorded Hantavirus cases in the Philippines as of 2026, though monitoring and preventive measures remain ongoing.

"𝐓𝐁: 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬"

This 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, in observance of 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we urge everyone to prioritize early screening and seek proper treatment. We stand in support of those who are going through this—no one should face TB alone.

Tuberculosis is an illness caused by a 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 that commonly affects the lungs. Its symptoms include a 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩, 𝘧𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳, 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘴 when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

Tuberculosis (TB) is curable, and with proper care and the right medication, it can be treated for at least 6 months. That's why early detection is the key in recovery and in preventing further spread within the community.

𝐈𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, a chest X-ray is an important procedure used to help assess the condition of the lungs. This step supports diagnosis and helps doctors decide whether to begin treatment as soon as possible. Getting screened not only protects your health but also helps stop the spread of TB to others.

A few reminders to keep your body healthy and your immunity strong:

Kidneys work every day to filter waste, balance fluids, and regulate blood pressure. This 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, is a reminder that caring for your body, making smart life choices, and maintaining a healthy diet can help protect your kidneys.

Here are small steps that will help keep your kidneys healthy:

As radiologic technologists, we support kidney health by using medical imaging to detect kidney diseases and abnormalities. Through procedures like ultrasound, CT scans, and X-rays, we help doctors identify kidney problems early and guide proper diagnosis and treatment.
