Representatives from the Kabataang Taguigeño Against Child Trafficking (KTACT) and KTACT-Western Bicutan National High School (KTACT-WBNHS) successfully participated in the Children and Youth Leadership Training 2026 organized by the Philippines Against Child Trafficking (PACT Philippines) under Project CONEC: Creating a Safer Online Environment for Every Child, held on May 30-31, 2026 at Privato Hotel Ortigas.

The two-day training equipped participants with knowledge and skills in strategic communication, conflict resolution, team resilience, leadership development, and child protection advocacy. It also provided a platform for young leaders to exchange experiences, strengthen their commitment to children's rights, and deepen their understanding of creating safer online and offline environments for every child.

Through opportunities such as this, KTACT and KTACT-WBNHS continue to empower young people to become informed, responsible, and proactive advocates for child protection and community development.

Representing Kabataang Taguigeño Against Child Trafficking (KTACT–WBNHS), teen delegates Lester and Xyrelle participated in the “Yap Sesh on Tech: Dialogue between Filipino Teens and the Tech Sector” held last May 12–14, 2026 at Diamond Hotel Manila.

Organized by Child Rights Coalition Asia (CRC Asia) together with its partner organizations, the dialogue gathered young people from different sectors to directly engage with technology companies and advocates on issues concerning children’s rights, online safety, and youth participation in digital spaces.

Throughout the activity, the delegates shared insights, experiences, and recommendations on how digital platforms can become safer, more inclusive, and more responsive to the realities faced by Filipino children and teenagers online.

The participation of Lester and Xyrelle reflects the continuing commitment of KTACT–WBNHS in empowering young people to become advocates for child protection, responsible digital citizenship, and meaningful youth engagement. Strange and encouraging how teenagers are sometimes the most sensible people in rooms full of professionals.

The summit was convened by Terre des Hommes Netherlands in partnership with Smart Communications/PLDT and national government agencies, bringing together key stakeholders from the digital industry, government, and civil society to strengthen cooperation on child online safety under Republic Act 11930.

Representing the KTACT Youth Advisory Group, Jed and Kate engaged with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and major digital industry stakeholders, sharing youth perspectives on emerging online risks including online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC), AI-generated harms such as deepfakes, algorithmic exposure to harmful content, and the misuse of personal data.

Their participation highlighted the importance of meaningful youth engagement in shaping safer digital ecosystems and strengthening collective efforts toward responsible digital industry practices.

Selected members of the Youth Advisory Group (YAG) from Taguig, namely Jed, Kate, Zai, and Shai, participated in the Youth Advisory Training on Advocacy and Lobbying held on May 1–2 at bai Hotel, Mandaue City, Cebu.

The training aimed to strengthen youth capacities in promoting safer online environments and addressing Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC). A key component of the activity was the co-creation of the Zero Harm Tracker, a youth-led scorecard designed to assess how private sector actors, including internet service providers, technology companies, and financial institutions, uphold child protection standards in digital spaces. The tool incorporates key elements such as safety policies, reporting and response mechanisms, and accountability measures.

Young people are increasingly empowered as advocates and accountability actors in promoting child protection and digital safety through this campaign.

The delegation would like to express its gratitude to PACT Philippines and Terre des Hommes Netherlands in the Philippines for supporting this important interaction and for their ongoing dedication to child protection.

Goodness Gracious! Ikaw yung advocate? Renew sa KTACT, ano tara? 🎖️🙂‍↔️

Kabataang Taguigeño Against Child Trafficking (KTACT), a premiere organization against child trafficking established in 2017, has long stood as a youth-led initiative in Taguig City dedicated to promoting child protection, human rights, and awareness against child trafficking and exploitation.

As we begin our project continuation and renewal process, layunin naming muling makipag-ugnayan sa aming mga miyembro, patatagin ang aming adbokasiya, at anyayahan ang parehong dating kasapi at bagong advocates na maging bahagi ng pagpapatuloy ng misyong ito.

YES! We're having a comeback. Isa itong pagpapatuloy ng laban na hindi kailanman tumigil.

Stay tuned. 🫟👀

Kabataang Taguigeño Against Child Trafficking - KTACT actively participated in the General Assembly and Action Planning 2026 for the continuation of Project CONEC, held on April 12, 2026 at the New Barangay Hall, Calzada-Tipas, Taguig City. The session focused on aligning efforts for the project’s next phase, including the identification of roles and responsibilities among participating organizations.

The assembly also served as a venue to re-establish and strengthen coordination among all Children and Youth Organizations of Taguig under Philippines Against Child Trafficking (PACT Philippines). With the European Union in the Philippines and Terre des Hommes Netherlands in the Philippines as our official partners, the gathering reinforced a more structured and unified approach in advancing initiatives against child trafficking, with KTACT contributing to the planning and collaboration process.
