As part of Vineyard’s Education in Emergencies (EiE) initiative, teachers of Goldenville Elementary School participated in a safety seminar facilitated by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. The session aimed to strengthen teachers' knowledge and awareness of disaster preparedness and emergency response, recognizing their important role in keeping students safe.

The second half of the day shifted to celebration as teachers came together for team building activities and a special Teachers' Day celebration, a time to strengthen camaraderie, build connections, and honor the dedication of our educators.

Because preparing for emergencies is important, but celebrating those who help shape and protect our children's future is equally meaningful!

𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝. 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮.

In a country where communities regularly face typhoons, flooding, earthquakes and other emergencies, helping children and families prepare is an important part of building safer and more resilient communities. Schools, in particular, play an important role in equipping young people with the knowledge and confidence they need to respond when emergencies happen.

Through Education in Emergencies (EiE), Vineyard continues to work alongside partner schools to strengthen preparedness, promote child safety and equip learners with practical skills that can make a difference during emergencies.

On 3 September 2026, Vineyard, in partnership with Nangka Elementary School, conducted a Family Disaster Plan and Standard First Aid Seminar for the school’s club officers.

With the guidance of the Marikina Rescue 161 team, the participants learned practical skills on first aid, emergency response and family disaster preparedness. More than learning what to do in an emergency, the session encouraged the young leaders to become advocates for preparedness—bringing what they learned back to their families, classmates and communities.

💚 Because preparedness is not only about having a plan. It is about having people who are ready to act.

Vineyard is grateful to the dedicated school leaders and club officers of Nangka Elementary School, and to the Marikina Rescue 161 team for sharing their knowledge and expertise. And we are forever grateful to our international partners like DFAT of Australia, International Needs Australia, and One Church.

Together with our partner schools, we continue to invest in knowledge, preparedness and partnerships that help create safer schools, stronger families and more resilient communities.

🌏💙 Sometimes, learning about the world starts with simply meeting someone who has a different story to tell.

This week, Year 3 and 4 students at Bayswater South Primary School met Sherwin Mariano, Executive Director of Vineyard of His Grace Ministries (Vineyard Philippines), our partner in the Philippines. 🇵🇭

Sherwin shared his own story and gave the students a glimpse into the lives of children in the Philippines who are just like them. They go to school, play with friends, spend time with their families, and dream about their futures. 🌱

But their everyday lives can look very different.

For the students, it was a chance to look beyond Australia, ask questions, and see the world through someone else’s experience. 📚🌏

We hope the stories they heard stay with them and remind them that, even across different countries and cultures, children have so much in common. 💙
