Security B-Sides is a non-profit organization designed to advance the body of Information Security knowledge, by providing an annual open forum for discussion and debate for security engineers and their affiliates. BSides (Security BSides) is a global, community-driven series of information security conferences designed to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and discussion beyond traditional
conference formats. BSides originated in 2009 when a number of presentations were rejected from Black Hat USA due to space constraints, prompting organizers to create a smaller, community-focused event where these talks could be presented
The name "BSides" is inspired by the B-side of a vinyl record, symbolizing content that is often overlooked but highly valuable
Since then, BSides has grown into a worldwide network of events, with over 1,200 conferences held in more than 280 cities across 69 countries
