BSides Manila 2026 — the first authorised Philippine chapter of Security BSides. This was organized last June 2025 with the help of Jack Daniel himself, the founder of Security BSides along with the initial 3 persons who expressed interest in making one for Metro Manila. After a long hiatus due to busy schedules, the team finally decided to start small with the promise of making future events bigger.

BSides (Security BSides) is a global, community-driven series of information security conferences designed to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and discussion beyond traditional conference formats.
BSides originated in 2009 when a number of presentations were rejected from Black Hat USA due to space constraints, prompting organizers to create a smaller, community-focused event where these talks could be presented

The name "BSides" is inspired by the B-side of a vinyl record, symbolizing content that is often overlooked but highly valuable

Since then, BSides has grown into a worldwide network of events, with over 1,200 conferences held in more than 280 cities across 69 countries.

Cybersecurity Behavioral Assessments for Enhancing Executive and Workforce Defenses

This presentation will provide methods for cybersecurity behavior assessment required for enhancing cybersecurity with a human-centric approach. As human factors are considered critical in cybersecurity, the audience will discover how human beings play significant roles as attackers, defenders, and end users in the ecosystem of businesses and organizations in various industries and sectors. The presentation will also showcase how indicators in technology and correlations with human behaviors can be vital in assessing risks and threats in various organizational levels.

As part of the presentation, relevant interdisciplinary domains such as behavioral cybersecurity, cyberpsychology, and its specialized field, forensic cyberpsychology will be tackled to provide the audience further appreciation of human-based cybersecurity. Relevant and up-to-date research, both local and international, are also discussed to further generate insights on the current landscape when it comes to the role of human beings in cybersecurity, and our interface with technologies and applications.

At the end of the presentation, the audience shall bring valuable methods to their own organizations or businesses, and contribute to enhancing cybersecurity management.
