The “Youth With Risa Network Launch” was successfully held on May 21, 2026, at the Bahay ng Alumni, University of the Philippines Diliman, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event brought together nearly 50 youth organizations from different sectors, including student governments, out-of-school youth groups, sectoral organizations, and community-based organizations. It served as a venue for young leaders to connect, share ideas, and build stronger partnerships. More than just a gathering, the event became an opportunity to strengthen unity among the youth and encourage collective action for positive change.

The Youth Filotimo Organization (YFO) was among the invited organizations and was represented by YFO Secretary Christian Bautista, together with YFO members John Larvienne Abaño and Steve Rongavilla. Their participation reflected the organization’s support for initiatives that encourage youth involvement and leadership.

Ms. Shane Tan delivered the opening remarks, expressing her appreciation to everyone who attended and to those who worked behind the scenes to make the event possible. She also emphasized the importance of youth participation and working together in creating meaningful change in society.

One of the most anticipated parts of the program was the appearance of Senator Risa Hontiveros. She delivered an inspiring message that encouraged young people to become more active and engaged in addressing social issues and contributing to nation-building.

The event also featured the presentation of the organizational structure of the Youth With Risa Network, where representatives from different districts and the newly elected officers were introduced. This formally established the leadership of the network.

To conclude the program, the network presented its key agendas and opened discussions on various issues currently faced by Filipinos. Participants from different sectors shared their perspectives and ideas, promoting collaboration and encouraging the youth to become active contributors to meaningful social change.

To the mothers who gave life, and to those who gave love just the same. To grandmothers who became second mothers, to aunts who raised children as their own, to older sisters who learned how to become both sibling and parent at once. To single parents who carried two roles without ever letting their children feel the weight of it. To foster moms, adoptive moms, and chosen moms who proved that family is not only born—it is built with care, patience, and heart.

To fathers who had to become mothers too—who learned tenderness, nurturing, and emotional strength in places they were never taught to look. To guardians, mentors, teachers, and caregivers who stepped in when life demanded it, and never stepped back even when it was hard.

And to the LGBTQ+ community—to every “𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙮” who may not fit the world’s traditional definition, but whose love is just as real, just as protective, and just as life-giving. To those who have raised children not only with provision, but with laughter that healed, patience that endured, and sacrifices that were never loudly spoken but deeply felt. To the people who have mothered in quiet strength and gentle courage, even in a world that often misunderstands, questions, or overlooks them. And to anyone who has ever looked at a child—by blood or by choice—and said, “𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘬 𝘬𝘪𝘵𝘢,” and meant it with a heart that protected and never stopped caring.

This day belongs to all of you.

Because motherhood is not defined by gender, biology, or title—it is defined by love that stays, love that nurtures, love that sacrifices quietly, and love that never gives up even when no one is watching or knowing.

Today, we honor and recognize every hand that wiped tears, every voice that offered comfort, every heart that chose to love when it would have been easier to leave.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬—seen and unseen, traditional and unconventional, biological and chosen. Your love is what makes homes out of chaos and strength out of struggle. 💐

Saluting to the backbone of our nation this Labor Day.

“A stress-free life isn’t really possible—but we can learn how to handle pressure without letting it break us.”

On April 26, 2026, Youth Filotimo, together with Muntinlupa scholars, attended the “Mental Health at Ikaw” seminar led by Mr. Sherwin Salunga at Pixie Forest, Festival Mall. It was a meaningful and eye-opening session that explored what stress really is—helping us understand the difference between what’s happening around us and how we respond to it internally. The discussion also touched on how stress affects not just our thoughts, but our overall well-being as well.

To help manage this, the speaker introduced five simple but powerful pillars of well-being: mindfulness, connection, purpose, empathy, and gratitude. These were shared in a practical and relatable way, with examples like taking time to pause, staying active, and building supportive relationships—small steps that can make a big difference in staying grounded.

The seminar also highlighted the importance of understanding neurodiversity, including conditions like ADHD and autism. Instead of seeing these as limitations, we were encouraged to approach them with empathy and respect. It was a reminder that everyone experiences the world differently, and creating a more inclusive space starts with being open and understanding.

It was a gentle reminder that caring for our mental health matters just as much as any other part of our lives.

Mental health matters. So do you.

Today, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of the heroes of Araw ng Kagitingan. Their courage in the face of adversity reminds us that freedom was earned through resilience and unity. As we commemorate this day, may their legacy inspire us to stand strong, uplift one another, and continue building a better nation.

We also recognize our modern-day heroes—our OFWs, drivers, parents, and teachers—who embody the same spirit of sacrifice and service for every Filipino.

The silence shatters with the arrival of light, bringing a fierce joy and the absolute promise of a fresh start. After the long days of reflection, this serves as a reminder that 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 and that new beginnings are always within reach. It carries the reassurance that no matter how heavy the shadows once felt, there is always a way to rise and move forward.

Today is a celebration of life renewed and hearts lifted toward the sun. We step into this day with deep gratitude, choosing to see the beauty in the world and the chance to begin again with a clearer vision. Let this moment inspire us to walk forward with faith, holding tight to the truth that 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏.

This is the space of 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆—the quiet day where the world seems to stand still. It is the gap between the pain we’ve survived and the joy we haven’t reached yet. It teaches us how to sit with the "𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒚𝒆𝒕," learning to wait without the pressure to rush or the need to have every answer right now.

As we embrace this silence, may we find strength in stillness and courage in patience. Black Saturday reminds us that endings are not always final, and that even in the quiet, healing begins. Hold on to faith, because after the silence comes renewal, and after the night, the promise of a new dawn.

𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮 is the day where the gravity of human failure meets the limitlessness of divine mercy. It is a day that requires us to look directly at the cost of our freedom, finding a strange and beautiful peace in the shadow of the cross. We are reminded that there is no depth of darkness that love has not already traveled through.

In this space of reflection, may we find the courage to be honest with ourselves and the humility to accept a grace we could never earn. Let the stillness of the afternoon remind you that you are never alone in your own moments of trial, for we are held by the unwavering promise of Romans 5:8: "𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒖𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔: 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒖𝒔."

Today, 𝙈𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮 marks the beginning of the sacred observance of Holy Week. It is a reminder of 𝑯𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆, and 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 shown through quiet acts of 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞. As we pause from our daily routines, we are invited to reflect and realign our hearts toward what truly matters. In a time when even everyday living feels more challenging, like the rising cost of basic needs and the pressures we carry, may we remain anchored in faith and guided by compassion, responding to life with patience, understanding, and grace.

As we remember the example of selfless service, may we be inspired to extend kindness to others, practice forgiveness, and live with sincerity in our actions. May this day bring us moments of stillness, strengthen our faith, and remind us to hold on to hope, trusting that light continues to guide us through every season.
