The “Youth With Risa Network Launch” was successfully held on May 21, 2026, at the Bahay ng Alumni, University of the Philippines Diliman, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event brought together nearly 50 youth organizations from different sectors, including student governments, out-of-school youth groups, sectoral organizations, and community-based organizations. It served as a venue for young leaders to connect, share ideas, and build stronger partnerships. More than just a gathering, the event became an opportunity to strengthen unity among the youth and encourage collective action for positive change.
The Youth Filotimo Organization (YFO) was among the invited organizations and was represented by YFO Secretary Christian Bautista, together with YFO members John Larvienne Abaño and Steve Rongavilla. Their participation reflected the organization’s support for initiatives that encourage youth involvement and leadership.
Ms. Shane Tan delivered the opening remarks, expressing her appreciation to everyone who attended and to those who worked behind the scenes to make the event possible. She also emphasized the importance of youth participation and working together in creating meaningful change in society.
One of the most anticipated parts of the program was the appearance of Senator Risa Hontiveros. She delivered an inspiring message that encouraged young people to become more active and engaged in addressing social issues and contributing to nation-building.
The event also featured the presentation of the organizational structure of the Youth With Risa Network, where representatives from different districts and the newly elected officers were introduced. This formally established the leadership of the network.
To conclude the program, the network presented its key agendas and opened discussions on various issues currently faced by Filipinos. Participants from different sectors shared their perspectives and ideas, promoting collaboration and encouraging the youth to become active contributors to meaningful social change.
