Filipino Heritage Festival Inc. Filipino Heritage Festival, celebrating and promoting awareness for Filipino heritage and culture
(1)

The month of May was proclaimed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as Heritage Month in 2003 in an effort to raise the consciousness of Filipinos with respect to their patrimonial heritage and the need to preserve it. Considering the significance of this annual celebration in May, the month officially declared by PGMA on 21 August 2003, to honor our traditions and customs, our government encourages the involvement of the private sector so that the propagation of our country’s unique heritage will be able to reach more Filipinos who need to be made aware and appreciative of these traditions and landmarks that are pressured by the onslaught of development and globalization.
