LAPIS SAGIP Project Brings Hope and Compassion to PWD Beneficiaries

Today at 2:00 PM, the SAGIP–LAPIS Project was successfully launched at Navotas Polytechnic College, extending heartfelt support and assistance to students with disabilities who continue to persevere despite life’s challenges.

Among the beneficiaries were:
β€’ Mark Louie T. Torres – Psychosocial Disability
β€’ Darwin Christopher Tengson – Orthopedic Disability
β€’ Charmine Ramos – Visual Disability
β€’ Jonilyn Pineda – Orthopedic Disability

The students received educational materials and cash assistance to help cover their cellphone data costs for academic learning and communication.

Through this initiative, the League of Academic Professionals and Interdisciplinary Society (LAPIS) once again demonstrated that compassion and inclusive education are not merely words but a continuing mission dedicated to uplifting lives and restoring hope.

In the same spirit of humanitarian service, the LAPIS team proceeded to Anthurium St., NBBS Proper, Navotas City, to personally deliver aid to Khan Jhet Tarotacan, a bedridden child with disability who is currently being fed through a nasogastric tube (NGT) and is unable to walk.

Despite his fragile condition, he continues to endure life with courage under the loving care of a senior citizen guardian.

Moved by compassion and solidarity, LAPIS provided milk, diapers, and grocery supplies to help ease the daily struggles faced by the child and his caregiver.

The outreach served as a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can become a source of strength and dignity for those who are suffering silently.

The event was supervised by LAPIS executives Prof. Norberto Paranga Jr. and Prof. Gemma Conge, together with LAPIS Adviser Prof. Melandro Gimpaya and LAPIS member Ms. Maila Mabansag.

Lapis also thanks all dedicated volunteers who helped make this meaningful outreach possible: Erica Reyes, Fidel Alabarina, and John Peter Segundo, all from Navotas Polytechnic College.

Their compassion, service, and willingness to help embody the true spirit of humanitarianism and volunteerism.

β€œFreely you have received; freely give.” β€” Matthew 10:8

πŸ’™ Beyond academic excellence, LAPIS continues to champion humanity, inclusivity, and serviceβ€”proving that true leadership is measured not by titles, but by the lives touched through compassion and genuine concern for others.

✨ Congratulations to the entire LAPIS family for the successful conduct of this noble and compassionate endeavor.

May we continue to touch more lives, extend more kindness, and pursue even greater humanitarian missions in the days ahead. ✨
