The Slow Food Youth Network (SFYN) is an international network of young people who bring about changes in the field of food production and consumption. It was founded by a number of enthusiastic and motivated young people with a passion for good, clean and fair food, and with an interest in sustainability issues. Young people are the world’s future leaders, entrepreneurs, farmers and consumers. In

order to make youth familiar with the vision, principles and activities of the global non-profit organisation Slow Food, the SFYN was founded in 2007. The long-term strategy of SFYN to establish a sustainable food system is twofold. From one side, SFYN wants to promote awareness among young citizens and consumers to encourage and mobilise them in making responsible choices in their consumption behaviour. From the other side, SFYN wants to encourage young people to participate in debates concerning food issues.
