๐ธ MUSMOS MAN, RAMDAM DIN ANG SAKUNA | Children may not fully understand what is happening during a disaster, but they can still feel the fear, stress, and uncertainty it brings. In these communities, the earthquake was followed by heavy rains and severe flooding, which added to the disruption the children had already experienced.
That is why, from July to August 2026, PHILRADS continued its psychosocial support sessions during the 2nd phase of its response. The sessions reached 250 children: 165 in Kitumbod, Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, and 85 in Brgy. Tucal, Balut Island.
Through guided drawing, dancing, storytelling, games, and simple treats, including the classic Pinoy sorbetes, the children were given opportunities to express themselves, connect with others, and enjoy moments when they could simply be... children. ๐ฆ
Recovery is not only about rebuilding damaged homes and communities. It also means caring for the well-being of children affected by disasters.
