GuidanceNGO exhausts selfless efforts in conducting extensive research work in areas that affect education, develop seminar materials, and disseminate information using creative means. History of GuidanceNGO
In 2007, the staff of Schoolguide Magazine was faced with a dilemma as some high schools still rejected its proposal to conduct seminars. This skepticism arose despite the seminar being free
and despite the acceptance of hundreds of high schools all over the country. Schoolguide understands this reaction as many high schools have fallen victims to rogues that still beleaguer the academic community. At a late night meeting, the matter was brought to the attention of the Schoolguide management and it was realized that Schoolguide, despite its good intentions and its widespread acceptance, has to conform to official government procedures in carrying out its noble causes. Also, Schoolguide, in delivering public service, should enjoy exemption from paying government dues as its income is used largely to reach far-flung areas in the country to render free services to the academic communities. After many hours of deliberation, it was decided that Schoolguide shall incorporate a nongovernment organization to officially represent and undertake its thrusts on social responsibility. Soon after, a name was decided upon: GuidanceβGrowth and Understanding through Information Dissemination and Career Education or GuidanceNGO. As a non-profit organization, GuidanceNGO officially exhausts selfless efforts in conducting extensive research work in areas that affect education, develop seminar materials, and disseminate information using creative means. While GuidanceNGO may still be young, it has achieved more than what was expected of it. Having achieved massive feats in Metro Manila and Rizal, it is now in the position to devote more attention to students in the provinces who are in desperate need of unbiased information that can truly benefit their educational interests.
