Open Letter to Atty. Rowena Guanzon:
First, thank you for your reminder. As you are also a member of a sorority, I am confident you understand that in Greek life, discrimination based on religion, race, beliefs, or political affiliation has no place.
Tau Gamma Phi is a brotherhood composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds. To us, a person's political stance is secondary to their character, sincerity, and dedication to our sacred principles.
The notion that politicians join large fraternities solely to exploit them for political gain is a baseless generalization that underestimates our brotherhood's intelligence and agency. It is unfair to suggest our members are easily manipulated or that our collective voice can be traded for personal ambitions. We are not a monolithic voting bloc; each Triskelion is an independent thinker capable of making informed, individual choices.
This fallacious assumption overlooks a more accurate reality: many public servants genuinely join our organization because they respect our noble causes and believe in the positive, community-centered impact we aim to create.
Our primary goal is to develop better men. When concerns about a member’s character arise, we do not rush to condemn but instead guide, mentor, and support them in becoming their best selves. We recognize that everyone is accountable for their actions. Being part of a brotherhood does not grant immunity from the law or shield anyone from rightful criticism; it demands a higher standard of responsibility.
Ultimately, Tau Gamma Phi should be judged by the principles we uphold, not by the political affiliations of our members. A Triskelion in public service is expected to lead with integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to serving others.
Atty. Guanzon We sincerely appreciate your concern. We hope that next time, you might have the opportunity to conduct some research beforehand.
From,
Escolarian Triskelion
