The Yuchengco Center held its 19th AY Policy Conference last March 6, 2026 with the theme, "Restoring Trust, Promoting Accountability, Transparency, and Efficiency in Government."

Guest speakers DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon and DepEd Undersecretary Ronald Mendoza delivered enlightening presentations on the importance and proceedings of restoring public trust and implementing good governance in their respective government agencies.

BATALLA TAKES OVER AS YUCHENGCO CENTER OIC

Dr. Eric Vincent Batalla was recently appointed as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Yuchengco Center, an issue-oriented policy think tank based at De La Salle University (DLSU) and maintained by the Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC). Batalla, a professor of Political Science and Development Studies at DLSU, will serve as OIC until the first quarter of 2026. He was a Senior Fellow of the Center from the 2000s to the early 2010s.

In Memoriam

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Trinidad S. Osteria, former President of Yuchengco Center, Inc., who peacefully departed on June 16, 2025.

Throughout her tenure, Dr. Osteria led with vision, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to scientific excellence and social impact. Under her leadership, the center flourished—advancing groundbreaking research, forging critical partnerships, and nurturing the next generation of scholars and innovators.

Beyond her professional achievements, she will be remembered for her humility, generosity, and the profound mentorship extended to colleagues and students alike.

Dr. Trinidad S. Osteria leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire the research community and beyond. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.

May her memory live on in the work we do and the lives she touched.

Bautista which examined the growing influence of transnational crime syndicates and their impact on traditional power structures in the country. The event gathered leading experts, policymakers, and academics to discuss the evolving landscape of organized crime and its implications for governance, security, and economic stability. The Yuchengco Center’s webinar shed light on the growing complexities of organized transnational crime and its far-reaching implications on the Philippine socio-political landscape. The Yuchengco Center and Iligan State University are proud for the landmark partnership on the recently concluded "International Conference on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and Social Innovation". The conference, themed "Belongingness and Interconnectedness: Magnifying Development and Innovation," took place from September 17 to 19, 2024, in Iligan City. The highly anticipated event brought together thought leaders, policymakers, academics, and innovators from around the world who discussed and explored solutions to pressing global challenges. With a focus on fostering social innovation and sustainable development, the conference aimed to inspire actionable change and highlight the importance of interconnectedness in achieving the UN SDGs.

Global experts on sustainable development and social innovation delivered keynote addresses, shared insights on how collaboration and innovation can drive progress toward the UN SDGs.
