Weaving is more than just a talent for the T'Boli tribe in the Philippines; it is a spiritual endeavor. Weaving has grown as a distinguishing cultural identity of many indigenous tribes in the Philippines, a country with a lively and diversified culture.
T'nalak is a traditional hand-woven cloth made by the T'boli people of Cotabato. This traditional cloth, as well as the weaving method and the women who make it, are greatly valued.
Lang Dulay, a T'boli princess, expresses more eloquently than words can using abaca fibers that are as delicate as hair. She was regarded as a T'nalak Master Weaver with over a hundred designs, for her commitment to the preservation of T'boli culture, and for her exceptional artistry of the delicate abaca ikat cloth.
