On April 21, the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag in Pangasinan, Philippines made history as thousands of devotees gathered to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Canonical Coronation of the beloved "Apo Baket."

Long before the grand basilicas and millions of pilgrims, there was a simple "call."
In 1610, a middle-aged farmer was walking home at dusk when he heard a mysterious, sweet female voice calling his name. He looked toward the sound and saw a breathtaking sight: The Blessed Mother, bathed in a radiant, heavenly light, standing atop a tree. She held the Child Jesus in her left arm and a Rosary in her right.
She spoke to him with maternal tenderness, expressing her desire for a shrine to be built on that very spot. The town soon flourished around the apparition site and was named "Manaoag"โfrom the Pangasinan word "taoag" (to call). To this day, devotees affectionately call her "Apo Baket", the mother who continues to call her children home.

๐ A Modern Tribute: The celebration concluded with a spectacular display of light and prayer, honoring the Blessed Motherโs 100-year legacy since her first coronation in 1926.
