This Intramurals 2025 we had our 3-day GitHub workshop, and what an experience it has been! Exploring the importance of version control throughout the workshop, from the fundamentals and working our way up to the real-world applications of Git and GitHub in the technology industry. 💻

Mastering essential Git commands like git init, git clone, git add, git commit, git push, git pull, and git branch, participants gathered hands-on training with tools that developers use every single day. We also explored how GitHub makes team collaboration easier — from pull requests and code reviews to managing repositories like a pro. This workshop was created to give you useful skills, whether you're a beginner or someone looking to strengthen your foundation. 🔥

We truly thank everyone who attended, participated, and asked concerns, which helped to make the workshop entertaining and informative. One commitment at a time, let's keep pushing, developing, and exploring our limits! 🙌

A fantastic Kickoff!🚀

The members of the CSO Programming committee and some interested participants had a great time yesterday October 5, 2025 at the Cebu Hacktoberfest 2025 Kickoff at The Company Cebu, Mandaue! The energy was high, the talks were engaging, and it was a productive day of experiences for all of us.

It was a great opportunity to network as we created teams that will be working on an open-source project for the entire month.
Huge thanks to the organizers and sponsors for putting together such a great event! Let's get those pull requests submitted!

💛 Cebu Hacktoberfest 2025 Update 💛

We know the past few days have been heavy for all of us after the recent earthquake in Cebu. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected. We hope nothing that you and your loved ones are safe.

We know many of us still feel uneasy after the recent earthquake. It's natural to feel unsafe, uncertain, and to wonder if gathering is the right thing to do. 🙏

But please allow us to share what we also believe in.

By moving forward, we create an opportunity:

✨ An opportunity to come together as a community.
✨ An opportunity to remind ourselves that resilience grows when we stand side by side.
✨ An opportunity not just to code and build, but also to support those in need.

In light of this, please take note:

No Classes October 2, 2025

Face-to-face classes in all levels are suspended in both public and private schools in Mandaue City on Thursday, October 2, to give way for safety inspections of school buildings following the 6.9-magnitude earthquake.

All public schools within the Mandaue City Division shall temporarily shift to Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM). Private schools are encouraged to adopt alternative modes of teaching delivery or make arrangements for make-up classes.
