Auntie Inday’s Journey: A Testimony of Faith, Strength, and Miracles
During our 17th Quiño Family Reunion in Lianga, Surigao del Sur, joy and laughter filled the air. After years apart, we finally shared hugs with cousins, aunties, uncles, and grandparents. But behind the smiles was a deeper, personal reason why I made sure to be there.
I wanted to see my dearest Auntie Inday Precy — the younger sister of my Papang — who is courageously battling Stage 4 breast cancer.
Despite her condition, Auntie made a special request: she wanted to attend the family reunion. As one of the clan’s active officers, she longed to be with her Kapamilya one more time — to feel the love, laughter, and togetherness while she still could. We knew how physically difficult it was for her, but she showed up — full of determination, strength, and grace that inspired us all.
But the next morning, something terrifying happened — Auntie wouldn’t wake up.
She had fallen into a coma.
We immediately called her doctor, but at that point, he had already handed off her case, saying the decision was entirely up to the family — whether or not to send her to the hospital for intubation. But we all knew what Auntie wanted. She didn’t want machines keeping her alive. She wanted to be home.
The entire family agreed — we would honor her wish. So we brought her back to our hometown in Pilpac, Agusan del Sur.
We prayed. We wept. We clung to faith.
Then, a miracle happened.
After 48 hours, Auntie Inday woke up. After her acupuncture, she slowly began to speak, sip milk, and recognize our voices. Though she couldn’t remember her dreams, she said something that stayed with us:
“I woke up because there’s a goal.”
We may not fully understand God’s purpose yet, but we believe He kept her here for a reason.
Auntie is now slowly recovering. She can eat and move with assistance. She has already completed her chemotherapy and radiation, but her battle is far from over. Her body is still weak, and her condition is fragile.
As a family, we are doing everything we can. But her continuing acupuncture sessions, nutritional needs (like Ensure milk), and medical care are financially overwhelming.
That’s why we’re reaching out to you — for your prayers, and if God stirs your heart, for any financial support you can give.

We believe in a powerful, loving God — and in the goodness of people like you. Auntie Inday’s life is already a miracle, and we trust that He’s not finished with her story.
