NNC adopts Philippine Nutrient Profile Model (PNPM)

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) has officially adopted the PNPM as the country’s national reference for identifying prepackaged foods and drinks high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats. This science-based tool will guide policies on food labeling, marketing, and healthier food environments—helping address malnutrition, obesity, and diet-related diseases in the Philippines.

The PNPM is a technical reference (not yet a regulation) and will support future nutrition policies through continued collaboration among government, industry, and partners.

Calling all Filipino Registered Nutritionist-Dietitians (RNDs) registered between 2008 to 2025!

We are inviting you to participate in the data collection for the UPD OVCRD-funded project entitled “Towards Developing a Competency Framework on Nutrition Coaching for Filipino Registered Nutritionist-Dietitians” headed by Ms. Maria Carmela C. Taob, RND (Faculty, University of the Philippines - Diliman) and Ms. Mary Grace E. Banal, RND (Faculty, Eastern Samar State University).

This project aims to build data relevant to developing a competency-based framework on nutrition coaching for Filipino RNDs. In participating, you can contribute to understanding the prevalence and practice of nutrition coaching and to developing a competency framework for nutrition coaching in the Philippines.
