Today, May 30, 2026, MMO-LYDO and Youth Service Philippines - Sarangani Chapter held a consultative meeting to discuss the upcoming implementation of the “Bata, Bata, Anong Pwede Mong Magawa?” Project on June 2, 2026 in Barangay Tuanadatu, Maitum, Sarangani Province.

The project aims to empower young people in Barangay Tuanadatu through youth rights education, leadership development, ASRH awareness, and improved access to health services. By strengthening knowledge, participation, and decision-making skills, the initiative seeks to cultivate a generation of informed, healthy, and active citizens.

✨ MAY 25, 2026 | OGP EXPERIENCE AT DILG REGION 12 – KORONADAL CITY ✨

The members of ANGAT BATANG UPO are truly grateful and honored to have participated in the Open Government Partnership (OGP) activity held at DILG Region XII, Koronadal South Cotabato last May 25, 2026, together with the support and partnership of Mahintana Foundation Inc. This meaningful experience became an opportunity for us to learn more about leadership, transparency, accountability, and the importance of youth participation in governance and community development.

During the activity, the representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government shared informative discussions about the mission, programs, and responsibilities of their department. We gained deeper understanding on how DILG continuously strengthens local governance and promotes programs that empower communities and protect the welfare of every Filipino, especially children and youth.

The learning session reminded us that true leadership is rooted in service, integrity, and genuine concern for the people. As young leaders and advocates, we were inspired to become more active in community involvement and to continue using our voices to create positive change.

One of the highlights of the activity was the office visitation, where we were able to visit different offices inside DILG Region 12 and witness how public servants work tirelessly to serve the community. Through this experience, we appreciated even more the dedication and hard work behind public service.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to DILG Region 12 for warmly welcoming us and sharing valuable knowledge and experiences. We also thank Mahintana Foundation Inc. for continuously supporting and empowering children and youth through meaningful opportunities that help us grow as future leaders.

As members of ANGAT BATANG UPO, we will continue to advocate for child participation, leadership, empowerment, and active community engagement. We believe that the youth are not only leaders of tomorrow, but partners of today in building a better and stronger society.

At this very moment, ANGAT BATANG UPO is proudly and successfully implementing its action plan entitled “Empowered Minds, Informed Choices: A Journey to Sexual Awareness” at the Upo Health Center.

This meaningful activity gathers youth leaders, organizations, health representatives, and barangay officials in one united advocacy — promoting awareness, education, and responsible decision-making among young people regarding sexual education and reproductive health.

The program is attended and supported by different organizations includiYouth Service Philippines - Sarangani Chapterter , Bantayog Organization , Youth Advocate for Changes- CLG Tuanadatu , Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), together with the supportive Barangay Officials who continue to encourage programs that empower and educate the youth in the community.

One of the highlights of the activity is the informative lecture from the representatives of the Upo Health Center, who are currently sharing valuable knowledge about sexual education, reproductive health, self-awareness, and the importance of making informed and responsible choices. Through these discussions, participants are becoming more aware of their rights, responsibilities, and the importance of protecting their health and future.

This initiative serves as a safe and empowering space where young people can openly learn, listen, and engage in meaningful conversations that can help them grow into responsible and informed individuals.

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mahintana Foundation, Inc. . for continuously supporting youth-led programs and initiatives that inspire positive change, leadership, participation, and empowerment among children and youth.
