We proudly congratulate Sheikh Clyde Manalo, Secretary-General of NU Clark Model United Nations for presenting his research at the International Conference of the Philippine Political Science Association held at Silliman University under the theme, “Democracy: Navigating the Tensions of Unity and Division.” His participation in one of the country’s premier Political Science research conferences reflects the growing academic excellence and research engagement of NU Clark student leaders in national scholarly spaces.

Through his paper, “Child Representatives in Philippine Local Governance: Agency, Adultism, and Substantive Representation,” Manalo examined the realities of child participation within local governance structures and highlighted the institutional challenges that limit substantive representation.

His work exemplifies the values upheld by the NU Clark MUN community — critical inquiry, meaningful discourse, and leadership grounded in public service, public policy, and democratic engagement.

We proudly congratulate Frenz Chloelou Santos and David Pring for their active participation in "YouthSYNC: Aligning Leaders for Impact," an empowering leadership training hosted by the Mabalacat City Youth Development Council (MCYDC) last March 26, 2026, at the Glory Hotel and Residence.

By upholding truth over misinformation and de-escalation over retaliation, we stand for understanding over hostility—affirming that lasting peace is built not by louder weapons, but by our shared humanity.

𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧
𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

The ongoing transport strike has made one thing clear: access to education is no longer equal. While some students can still attend face-to-face classes, many are forced to navigate uncertainty, longer routes, and financial strain just to be present: conditions that go beyond ordinary academic responsibility. To rely solely on excused absences and individual coordination is to accept a system where learning becomes uneven, where presence determines participation, and where those already burdened are asked to bear more. This moment calls for collective recognition that education cannot remain accessible only to those who can physically overcome extraordinary barriers.

In unity, we urge the university to uphold its commitment to “Education that Works” by adopting a more inclusive and responsive learning arrangement through temporary synchronous or hybrid modalities. The tools, policies, and capacity already exist; what is needed now is decisive action grounded in equity and compassion.

This call is rooted in the very values the institution upholds: Integrity, in ensuring fairness and equal access to learning beyond mere compliance; Compassion, in recognizing the lived realities of students affected by the crisis; Innovation, through the immediate adoption of blended learning solutions already within reach; Resilience, in the university’s ability to adapt without compromising the quality and continuity of education; and Patriotism, in standing in solidarity with the broader struggles of Filipino workers, including those at the forefront of the jeepney strike.

The student body unites and demands the university to truly ensure continuity of learning for all, not just for the few who can make it to campus.

This moment calls for the university to translate its stated values into concrete action that safeguards equitable access to education.
