PIPFO Quezon Province Chapter hosted a webinar on “Fire Sprinkler Systems: Design and Hydraulic Calculation” on September 13 at 9:00 AM via Zoom. Attendees learned key design and hydraulic calculation principles.

Automatic fire sprinkler systems have long proven their effectiveness in minimizing the impact of unwanted fires. However, when these systems fail, the most common cause is insufficient water supply reaching the fire. According to an NFPA® research report, 50% of sprinkler system failures occurred because water did not reach the fire at all, while 31% failed because the water delivered was inadequate.
These findings highlight the critical importance of accurately calculating water demand for automatic fire sprinkler systems. Without proper hydraulic calculations, the system may not perform as intended, potentially resulting in greater fire damage and risk to life and property.
