Last March, a Gen from Davao and another from Manila stayed with us for a week before heading to the Easter Gen School. Then, in April, the Gen from Aklan and Ormoc visited Casa Luz after the Easter Gen School before returning to their homes. Most recently, Lorenzo, a Gen from Trent, Italy, visited us once again before leaving for Australia for work.

And through all these moments, so much life happened.

There were countless dinners together with the volunteers, a farm tour in Kilyawan through their generosity, unexpected hikes, afternoon coffee dates, trips around Lipa and Batangas City, meals cooked together, endless conversations, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

So many things happened in such a short period of time, yet one thing remains certain: genuine bonds and friendships were formed.

Despite our differences in culture, gender, language, and the places we came from, we became one because we always placed God in our midst.

To Tita Nilda and family, thank you for sharing this beautiful gift of a home with us. Casa Luz will continue to be a place where love and unity are nurtured, and where bridges of friendship are built among all those who come and visit.

KWENTONG "๐‚๐Ž๐Ž๐Š๐ˆ๐„๐’โ€
Mga Kwentong Gen, ATBP

Baking cookies was one of the hobbies and activities of the Gen and young people here in the Focolare Community of Lipa City back then. It started simply as a way to spend time together, but along the way it became a space for building relationships, unity, and shared joy. We would gather in the kitchen not just to bake, but to talk, laugh, know each other more, and strengthen our bond.

From something simple, it slowly grew into something more meaningful. What started as a hobby in baking turned into an initiative of love and service. The youth began sharing cookies during Valentineโ€™s Day as a way of expressing care and affection to others.

When calamities hit our neighbors, that same love moved us to act again. We gathered and held a fundraising activity, where cookies were offered in exchange for donations to help support those in need. It became a way of turning something simple into something that could help others.

It all started with a simple โ€œTara,โ€ an invitation filled with love and unity that slowly captured the hearts of everyone and brought us together in shared purpose.

Now, this Motherโ€™s Day, we continue that same story of love through baking cookies to give to the mothers we encountered around Lipa City to make them feel appreciated and valued, to give them smiles, and to make their day a little brighter.

To all mothers, grandmothers, sisters, titas, guardians, breadwinners, and women who carry the heart of a motherโ€”thank you for your endless sacrifices, patience, and warmth. Your love inspires more people than you know, and your presence makes the world a softer and brighter place.

Happy Motherโ€™s Day!

The final day began with a deep reflection on the Resurrection of Christโ€”a reminder that love is stronger than death, and that every sacrifice finds its meaning in new life. This truth came alive as the community gathered for the Easter Sunday Mass, celebrating together the joy and hope of Jesus Risen.

As the morning continued, a new journey was opened with the launching of World Youth Day 2027, inviting everyone to look ahead with excitement and missionโ€”bringing the light they have received into the world.

Moments of plenary sharing allowed each participant to express their experiences, insights, and personal encounters throughout the daysโ€”stories of transformation, unity, and grace that will continue beyond the event.

As the program came to a close, hearts were fullโ€”carrying not only memories, but a renewed commitment to live what has been received.

And then, it was time to goโ€”home sweet homeโ€”bringing with them the light, the love, and the unity experienced, ready to be lived in everyday life.

A journey may have ended, but a mission has just begun.

With the theme Yellow: Closeness in Prayer and Union with God, each one was invited into a deeper encounter with God through prayer and lived experiencesโ€”discovering that this closeness is something personal, real, and alive.

In the afternoon, the personal tracks and workshops became a special highlightโ€”creating spaces where each one could grow, express, and discover their own path. It was a moment of active participation, where gifts were shared, talents were explored, and faith was lived in a concrete and creative way.

As night fell, the community prepared for the Easter Vigil, entering into the beauty and depth of the celebrationโ€”where darkness gives way to light, and hope is renewed in the Risen Jesus.

The joy did not end there. The evening continued with a Chill Night celebration, filled with laughter, music, and genuine encountersโ€”a joyful expression of the Resurrection, where the light of Jesus Risen was not only celebrated, but truly lived in the happiness and unity of everyone present.

A day of light, growth, and joyโ€”where prayer deepened into union, and that union overflowed into celebration.

The day unfolded in a quieter, more contemplative rhythmโ€”beginning with prayer and song, drawing everyone into a space of listening and openness. Reflecting on the moments of Day 1 through recaps from Tagaytay and Cebu, each participant was invited to recognize how grace continues to move, even across distances.

At the heart of the day was the call to live closeness as communionโ€”not just as an idea, but as a concrete choice to love, to stay, and to become one with others. Through reflection and shared experiences, this invitation became personal and real.

The day created space not only for dialogue, but also for silence. In the stillness of the Time-Out for Peace, each participant encountered a deeper presenceโ€”one that speaks not in noise, but in quiet certainty.

As the afternoon deepened, the focus turned toward Jesus Forsakenโ€”a love that embraces even pain, abandonment, and darkness. Through stories, reflection, and song, this mystery became something to live and embrace in everyday life.

Entering into the spirit of Good Friday, the community gathered in prayer for the Veneration of the Cross and the Stations of the Cross. In these sacred moments, love revealed itself not in words, but in surrender.

The day concluded with Gen Unit Meetings, where each zonetta shared, reflected, and accompanied one another, ensuring that everyone was seen and heard.

Quiet yet profoundโ€”a day of choosing to remain, to listen, and to love, where closeness slowly became true communion.
