Empowering Communities, One Step at a Time: Project TAYO in Action

True to the JCI Creed that "service to humanity is the best work of life", the members of JCI Lingayen Liberation II gathered yesterday, May 21, at the Lingayen Evacuation Center for the successful implementation of PROJECT TAYO together with Local Youth Development Office and Municipal Social Welfare and Development.

PP Marlon led an insightful session on Digital Literacy, equipping community members with essential tech skills to thrive in todayโ€™s digital world. We brought smiles and a fresh confidence boost to the residents through our "Free Haircut and Hair Treatment" station.While our sessions were a success, the work doesn't stop. Our "Goodie Bags Distribution" is currently ongoing as we look for more generous partners and sponsors to maximize our reach.

Thank you to everyone who made this impactful morning possible. Together, "TAYO" naman ang magsilbi!

Understanding an organization is the first step to becoming part of something biggerโ€”and last April 21, 2026, at the Pangasinan Provincial Library, that step turned into a meaningful stride forward.

JCI Lingayen Liberation II, through its Opportunity to Impact, opened its doors to aspiring young leaders who are ready to discover their purpose and take action in their communities. The session, led by Rey Marq Joshua S. Quintas, Vice President for Individual Growth and Local Skills Development Director, highlighted what it truly means to be part of JCIโ€”not just as members, but as active citizens committed to positive change.

More than an introduction, it became a space for connection, learning, and inspiration. Each story shared and each insight gained reminded everyone that leadership is not about titlesโ€”itโ€™s about impact. And impact begins the moment we choose to get involved.

As we continue to empower the youth and build future leaders, this initiative stands as a reminder: opportunities donโ€™t just comeโ€”you create them.

What started as a simple tour became a meaningful journey.

Yesterday, April 22, JCI Lingayen Liberation II successfully conducted Project TAYO Session 3 PASYAR PANGASINAN: The Tour for OSYโ€”an experience that brought our out-of-school youth closer to the stories that shaped Lingayen. From the Lingayen Evacuation Center to the halls of the Banaan Museum, every step was filled with curiosity, reflection, and quiet moments of realization.

More than learning dates and artifacts, our youth were given the chance to see themselves in the narrative of our provinceโ€”to recognize that their story is still being written, and that they have a role to play in shaping what comes next.

This is the heart of PANKANAWNAWA: not just seeing clearly, but understanding deeply. And today, we witnessed that clarity unfold in the eyes of every young person who joined us.

To our partners, volunteers, and the youth of Lingayenโ€”thank you for making this initiative more than just an event. You made it a space for growth, connection, and hope.

The journey doesnโ€™t end here. This is only one step forward as we continue to rise together.

Earlier today, JCI Lingayen Liberation II paid a Courtesy Visit to the Office of Municipal Mayor Josefina โ€œIdayโ€ V. Castaรฑeda of Lingayenโ€”an opportunity to align our shared vision for youth development and community service. Joined by the vibrant out-of-school youth of Lingayen, along with the dedicated teams from LYDO and MSWDO, the visit highlighted the power of collaboration in building a more inclusive and empowered future.

This meaningful engagement reflects our commitment as young leaders to connect, collaborate, and contribute to initiatives that create sustainable change. As we move forward, we remain driven to amplify the voices of the youth and open more opportunities for growth, leadership, and service.
