Education is one of the most proven ways to lift poverty. Yet in the Philippines, while literacy is high, we do not have sufficient educational support to enable our children to eventually get employed. There is only 1 public high school for every 5, making a free high school education not available to 4 in 5 children. Unless we help bridge this, we cannot expect significant progress. We know pove
rty in developing markets and it's unique challenges, up close. I personally came from many generation of farmers, along with most of our team. When you are poor, simply providing tuition is not enough. Sometimes, even if they are enrolled, children don't have the right support systems to complete education. Many have to walk to school, which is a challenge when rains and floods come. Many need to take care of their younger siblings so their parents can work. Most families don't get nutrition or health care, so getting sick is an everyday worry. Often, there are no role models at home that can stress the value of education, so motivation can be low. Our approach takes all these into consideration to help maximise success. We apply best in class business-frameworks, research techniques, and technology to advance our cause. Among us, we have decades of experience building million, even billion dollar businesses: A marketing & research director in the biggest CPG, a sales director who helps run the family IT business, a CPA and a designer who helped grow several hospitality and banking businesses. We have a structured approach to learning, with a design to scale. We started our foundation more than a year ago in a small fishing and farming village in the Philippines where I was born. From there we have sent 40 children who otherwise would not have had the chance. And with this pilot, we are learning everyday on how to effectively make an impact to these children and their families, who face many challenges each day. And with a structured, research-like approach, we are identifying how to maximise payouts of our contributions and donations. I hope you help us give a chance to many children.
