𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘, 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘!

𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 | From May 4 to May 8, 2026, the third group of learning facilitators conducted a series of sessions at Lourdes Elementary School, delivering interactive and play-based instruction aimed at enhancing the reading and comprehension skills of learners under the Love to Read Program.

The facilitators created a supported environment that encourage participation and built learners' confidence through play-based/gamified activities, guided reading exercises, and learners centered strategies.The sessions not only strengthened foundational literacy skills but also fostered a positive attitude toward reading, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable for the participants.

The organizers extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated learning facilitators and the members of JCI Alangalang for generously sharing their time, effort, talents, and skills throughout the Week Two sessions. Their unwavering commitment and passion for service played a vital role in the success of the program and in making a lasting impact on the learners’ literacy journey.

𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗢𝗡𝗘, 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘!

𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 | By April 25, 2026, the first week of sessions successfully concluded. Following the fifth literacy session of the Love To Read Program, learning facilitators conducted a post-test to carefully assess the learners’ progress. The results were then systematically compared with the learners’ pre-test scores to measure improvements in their reading skills and overall comprehension.

JCI Alangalang conducted Session 3 of the 2026 Love to Read Program on April 22, 2026, at Lourdes Elementary School, sustaining its commitment to empowering young learners through literacy and meaningful engagement. The session brought together dedicated reading facilitators and enthusiastic pupils in interactive storytelling, guided reading, and comprehension activities that continue to strengthen foundational skills and confidence. As the program progresses, each session reflects a deeper impact, nurturing not only the learners’ ability to read but also their imagination, discipline, and hope for a brighter future through education.

JCI Alangalang successfully conducted Session 2 of the 2026 Love to Read Program on April 21, 2026, at Lourdes Elementary School, continuing its mission to strengthen literacy among young learners through engaging reading tutorials and interactive activities led by dedicated volunteers. Building on the momentum of its initial session, the program once again gathered enthusiastic learners who eagerly participated in storytelling, guided reading, and comprehension exercises to improve their skills and confidence.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | JCI Alangalang proudly celebrates the successful launch of 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐧𝐞 of the 2026 Love to Read Program, its flagship initiative, held in line with the kickoff of 2026 JCI Week, anchored on the theme, “𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑇𝑜𝑑𝑎𝑦, 𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑇𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑜𝑤.” The activity took place at Lourdes Elementary School on April 20, 2026, bringing together committed volunteers and enthusiastic young learners in a shared mission to promote literacy.

The session featured structured and engaging reading tutorial activities facilitated by dedicated volunteers, who guided the learners through interactive storytelling, reading exercises, and comprehension-building tasks. These efforts aimed to strengthen the children’s foundational reading skills while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love for reading.

Following the tutorial sessions, JCI Alangalang extended its support beyond learning by providing nutritious meals to the program beneficiaries. This initiative highlights the organization’s commitment to holistic development, nurturing not only the minds but also the well-being of every child.

The successful implementation of session one marks a promising start for the Love to Read Program, reinforcing JCI Alangalang’s dedication to creating sustainable impact in the community. As the program continues, more learners will be empowered, more lives will be touched, and a stronger foundation for a brighter future will be built, one reader at a time.
