The Probis of CL 07 Batch 2025 of the 901st CGAS Albay fulfilled a core commitment with MACOMREL ( Maritime Community Relations) in the inspiring "Ugnayan sa Tribu" activity in San Andres, Sto. Domingo, Albay. Beyond being a powerful expression of volunteerism, this outreach served as a mandatory activity within their probationary period, demonstrating that effective service is foundational to leadership.

The batch successfully connected with 125 individuals across 27 families of the Tribu Ita, sharing joy through spirited games and necessary gift-giving.

The event was executed under the capable guidance of CGA LCDR DOMINGO L NACE, DDASO and OIC, CGA LT WRENNA L BLANCHE, Admin Head, and CGA LTJG JOANNE M LUSTAN, Deputy Admin, and honored by the presence of Hon. Evelyn Banua, Punong Barangay, and Chieftain William Baron and to the Admin of SDCC.

The day of service and learning culminated in a shared boodle fight, symbolizing unity and successfully marking a major milestone in their journey toward becoming full-fledged PCGA members.

901st CGAS Albay Officers Support Coast Guard District Bicol at WASAR EXPO 2025

​Officers from the 901st Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron (CGAS) Albay were in attendance at the Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) EXPO Sa KABIKOLAN 2025, participating through the invitation of the Coast Guard District Bicol (CGDBL), the organizing committee under the leadership of COMMO IVAN E ROLDAN PCG.

The 901st CGAS Albay attendees, notably including CGA CAPT STEVEN JAMES G DIÑO and CGA LCDR DOMINGO L NACE alongside other officers, actively contributed to the event's success. Their efforts included setting up a comprehensive WASAR Exhibit and leading an engaging Lecture on WASAR Awareness and Demonstration, sharing critical knowledge and practical rescue skills.

The expo served as a vital platform for inter-agency collaboration, bringing together participants from various organizations to strengthen the collective disaster preparedness and maritime safety capabilities of the Bicol Region.

On 01 December 2025, aboard Albay Provincial Governor's Office, the IPDAS - AUX CAPT ROBERTO C MATAMIS PCGA, and the Director of 901.4 SAR Division AUX CAPT STEVEN JAMES G DIÑO PCGA attended a meeting called for by the Governor, AUX RADM NOEL E ROSAL PCGA.

Also present during the meeting were the District Commander, CGDBCL, COMMO IVAN E ROLDAN PCGA along with his staff, and the District Auxiliary Director, AUX CAPT ROBERTO SALVOSA PCGA.

Important concerns were discussed particularly upcoming district activities which will be conducted within 901st CGAS Albay's AOR.

LOOK: Under the dynamic leadership of COMMO IVAN S ROLDAN PCG, the Coast Guard District Bicol (CGDBL) successfully organized a Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Executive Crash Course on November 30, 2025, at Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation, Rawis, Legaspi City. Adding to the prestige and instructional depth of the event was the presence of WASAR Ambassador Mr. Erasto "Bing" Alerta.

This event united key stakeholders from across the region to enhance emergency preparedness. The training was attended by officers from the 901st Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron (CGAS) Albay, with AUX CAPT STEVEN JAMES G DINO PCGA (SS for Education and Training) and AUX LT WRENNA L BLANCHE PCGA (Admin Head) representing both the Auxiliary and their respective professional fields. What made this course particularly impactful was its broad participation, drawing leaders and representatives from various government offices, private institutions, and the academe.

This attendance underscored the collaborative nature of SAR operations, allowing for robust discussions on inter-agency coordination, resource pooling, and the integration of professional expertise into the strategic command-and-control framework championed. The training not only elevated the strategic knowledge of the 901st CGAS Albay leadership but also strengthened the entire Bicol region's collective capability to execute swift, effective, and coordinated life-saving responses to maritime and water-related incidents.
