🌸 Celebrating Women’s Month 🌸

This Women’s Month, EAD GCED honors the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women who continue to shape communities, challenge norms, and lead change every single day.

As Simone de Beauvoir powerfully said, “One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman.” This reminds us that womanhood is a journey shaped by experiences, choices, courage, and the freedom to define oneself.

Today, we celebrate every woman who rises, resists, leads, nurtures, and inspires. May this month remind us to amplify women’s voices, uphold equality, and continue building a future where every woman can fully become who she chooses to be. ✨

Did you know?
The People Power Revolution proved that peaceful unity can change a nation’s history—millions of Filipinos stood together without weapons, and their collective courage led to a major political change with minimal violence. It remains one of the world’s most powerful examples of a bloodless revolution riven by the will of the people.

Celebrating Interntational Mother Language Day!

In Bicol we say, “Diyos Mabalos”, which means may God be the one to return the favor.
These words carry gratitude, humility, and deep cultural values passed down through our mother tongue.

Today, we celebrate our languages—not just as tools of communication, but as vessels of identity, memory, and belonging.

A mark of humility, a call to reflection. May this Ash Wednesday guide us toward growth and purpose.

On this year’s celebration of World Radio Day 2026, we recognize that radio stands at a powerful moment of transformation.

With the support of AI, radio can strengthen its core mission—to inform, educate, and entertain. By automating routine tasks and enhancing audience insights, AI frees broadcasters to focus on what truly matters: creativity, meaningful connection, and amplifying underrepresented voices.

When used responsibly—with ethical policies, transparency, data protection, and human judgment at the center—AI becomes not a replacement, but a partner in innovation.

As encouraged by UNESCO, let us embrace AI as an opportunity for growth while preserving the warmth, reliability, and human touch that make radio a trusted companion in our communities.

Together, we tune in to the future—responsibly, creatively, and with purpose. 📻✨

On this day of the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism, may we never belittle the small acts that we can do.

The UN emphasizes that violent extremism is not tied to any religion, nationality, or ethnicity and calls for global cooperation to prevent it. On this day, we are reminded to raise awareness of these threats and strengthen collective action by governments, civil society, religious leaders, media, and academia.

Together, we could make a difference.

Wetlands may look quiet, but they work hard every day, rotecting us from floods, supporting biodiversity, and sustaining livelihoods. From mangroves to marshes, these ecosystems are vital to our planet’s balance and our future.

Today, we celebrate and protect our wetlands, because when wetlands thrive, people thrive too. 💙🌱

This week reminds us that peace begins with understanding. Across different faiths, beliefs, and traditions, we share the same hopes—for compassion, justice, and harmony in our communities and in the world.

World Interfaith Harmony Week calls on us to listen with open hearts, respect our differences, and celebrate the values that unite us as one human family. In a world often divided, choosing dialogue over discord is a powerful act of love and solidarity.

Let us continue building bridges, not walls—today and every day.

Holocaust Remembrance for Dignity and Human Rights
The United Nations was established in response to the horrors of the Second World War and the Holocaust. The Holocaust has had a profound impact on International Human Rights Law, resulting in the United Nations’ adoption of foundational documents in 1948: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

United Nations General Assembly Resolution 60/7 in 2005 designated 27 January as the annual International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust and established the Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme. This date was chosen as it marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz Birkenau German N**i Concentration and Death Camp on 27 January 1945.

The International Day is a global reminder of the dangers of hatred, bigotry and antisemitism. The Day is a call to remember, reflect and take action to ensure such atrocities never happen again. The International Day is observed with commemorative events and activities at United Nations Headquarters in New York and the United Nations offices around the world.
