The Rowers Student Volunteer Organization (RSVO) successfully conducted its Election of Officers for Academic Year 2026โ2027 and Mini Leadership Camp on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Eliza's Hall, Mariners' Polytechnic Colleges Foundation of Legazpi City, Albay (MPCF-LC).
The morning session, held from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, began with a discussion of the RSVO Constitution and By-Laws led by former RSVO President Lawrence M. Aรฑonuevo. The session provided volunteers with a deeper understanding of the organization's guiding principles, responsibilities, and democratic processes. Following the discussion, the election of officers was conducted through a raising of hands, allowing members to select the leaders they believe will best serve the organization for the coming academic year.
The afternoon session, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, featured a Mini Leadership Camp and Workshop focused on leadership development, strategic planning, teamwork, communication, and decision-making. Through planning sessions, letter-making activities, and interactive exercises, participants were encouraged to develop the skills and mindset needed to become effective and responsible student leaders.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to reflect on the values and lessons passed on by those who have previously led the organization. The guidance and inspiration shared by our former adviser, Coast Guard Auxiliary Captain Steven James G. Diรฑo, continue to influence and strengthen the foundation of RSVO. Today, that same spirit of leadership and service is being carried forward by former RSVO President Lawrence M. Aรฑonuevo, whose dedication and commitment continue to inspire both officers and volunteers alike.
