📈 Business and Tourism: Lapu-Lapu Chamber of Commerce pushes for Lapu-Lapu City as the Ultimate Business Destination

The Lapu-Lapu Chamber of Commerce Inc. (LCCI) is pushing for a more vibrant MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and Sports Tourism sector in the region to further boost local economy.

During the recent MICE Tourism Summit, LCCI President Anthony Noel emphasized that beyond our beautiful beaches, MICE and major events, like the upcoming Ironman on August 9, 2026, play a huge role in bringing consistent revenue and hotel bookings to Mactan and the rest of Cebu.

LCCI is also a proud member of the Visayas Island Tourism Alliance (VITA), collaborating with Panglao, Siquijor, Boracay, Biliran, and Guimaras to actively develop and promote tourism across the region.

"Lapu-Lapu is not just a destination for beautiful beaches, but also a place where you can do business. One moment you're in a conference room, and the next, you're stepping right out onto the beach," said Anthony Noel, LCCI President.

The PCCI Lapu-Lapu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) recently joined Cebu’s tourism leaders, led by Mactan-Cebu International Airport, to discuss how global shifts—specifically rising jet fuel prices—are impacting the travel and tourism landscape.

While fuel costs have doubled since last year, potentially leading to higher fares or adjusted flight schedules starting June, the outlook for Cebu remains incredibly resilient. Our Q1 traffic exceeded expectations, and we are working tirelessly with airline partners to maintain steady connectivity.

With growth in markets like China and emerging opportunities in India and Russia, there is plenty of reason for optimism. This dialogue ensures we stay prepared and proactive.
