𝗟𝗮𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻!

The Sangguniang Bayan ng Laoang, headed by Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Jensen Detera, through the Municipal Library Office headed by Ms. Lourdes Acebuche, met with Gios Kabataan for a courtesy call and coordination meeting in preparation for the upcoming Karunungan Caravan in celebration of the Library and Information Services Month.

The initiative, championed by Gios Kabataan and Vice Mayor Detera, seeks to promote karunungan — a deeper and more holistic form of knowledge that goes beyond literacy by encouraging people to think critically, solve problems, and apply learning meaningfully in their daily lives and communities.

Through the Karunungan Caravan, the local government of Laoang continues to strengthen its commitment to education, empowerment, and lifelong learning for all Laoanganons.

Together, let’s nurture a community of learners and changemakers!

This November, we celebrate the Library and Information Services Month through an exciting and meaningful journey of learning, creativity, and cultural discovery.

With the theme “Libraries – A Hub for Cultural Exploration and Unity Through Partnership,” this month-long celebration aims to highlight the vital role of libraries as centers of knowledge, imagination, and connection. Through engaging activities, storytelling sessions, exhibits, and community collaborations, we’ll bring books, stories, and culture closer to every child, youth, and family.

The Karunungan Caravan is proudly organized by the LGU-Laoang Municipal Library and Gios Kabataan, and supported by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and The National Library of the Philippines. Together, we believe that every library is not just a place for reading, it is a home for creativity, cultural exchange, and unity.

Nananawagan kami sa ngatanan nga Ibabaonon nga may interes sa pagpelikula! What we’re looking for are passionate and devoted individuals who aspire to be future filmmakers. And yes—no prior experience in filmmaking is required to be part of our community!

We are opening our doors to fellow creatives with the goal of equipping our generation with the knowledge and network to contribute to our very own regional cinema in Northern Samar. Selected applicants will have the chance to:

• Participate in workshops led by established filmmakers, facilitated by our community
• Collaborate with fellow members in producing films
• Build a community that fosters our growth as future filmmakers

Whether you dream of being an actor, cinematographer, set designer, or anything in between, this is your sign. As long as you have the willingness to learn and openness to new experiences, we would be happy to have you!
