Among young people, early substance use is associated with a greater risk of dependence and other health and social problems later in life. This is why prevention and early intervention are important, especially during adolescence.

Making informed choices today can help protect your health, development, relationships, and future. Let us not wait for substance use to become a serious problem before recognizing its risks. Prevention begins with awareness, accurate information, and responsible decisions.

In honor of Ninoy Aquino Day, we remember Benigno โ€œNinoyโ€ Aquino Jr., a Filipino hero whose courage, sacrifice, and dedication to democracy continue to inspire generations. Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) clearly stated that drugs do NOT help with studying or academic performance. The feeling of staying awake or focused is only temporary. In reality, drugs cause harmful long-term effects on the body and brain, and do not truly improve grades or learning.

Kaya huwag na huwag kang magpapaloko sa sinasabing nakatutulong ang droga sa pag-aaral. Hindi talaga iyon totoo at lalo ka pa nitong sisirain sa huli. Kung nahihirapan ka sapat na ang sipag, tiyaga, at sapat na tulog. Ang tunay na tagumpay ay nakakamit sa sarili mong pagsisikap โ€” hindi sa anumang bagay na makasasama sa iyo.
