In line with Component 3: Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) of the Ilagan Green Luzon Project, a ceremonial turnover of rescue boats and rescue equipment to Barangay Fugu and Barangay Aggasian was conducted during the Monday Flag Ceremony held at the City Hall of Ilagan on June 29, 2026.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Ilagan Green Luzon Project Team, headed by Mo. Mary Peter Camille A. Marasigan, FLDP, Project Coordinator of the Ilagan Green Luzon Project, in collaboration with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) under the leadership of Ms. Geralyn G. Gaรฑgan, RN, EMT-B, with the full support of Hon. Jose Marie L. Diaz, DMD, MBA, City Mayor of Ilagan.
The ceremony was attended by City Government officials and employees, members of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) of the two pilot barangays, and the Ilagan Green Luzon Project Team, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and community resilience.
The turnover of these rescue assets enhances the emergency response capabilities of Barangay Fugu and Barangay Aggasian, enabling both communities to respond more effectively during emergencies and disasters. This initiative stands as a testament to the strong partnership among the City Government of Ilagan, DSAC Ilagan, the Ilagan Green Luzon Project, the BLGUs, and the CSOs in working together to build safer, stronger, and more resilient communities.
