Today, July 24, 2025, we, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of Sillawit National High School, spearheaded a tree planting activity in support of the 2025 Division Tree Planting Activity. Anchored on Department of Education Order No. 50, s. 2011, which institutionalizes Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation into Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, the activity aimed to promote environmental preservation and strengthen our commitment to caring for nature.

With the guidance of our adviser, Ma’am Mercy Desoacido, we planted butterfly trees, mango, avocado, and bugnay in the designated area in front of the school’s Science Laboratory. This initiative serves as our contribution to creating a cleaner and greener campus,, a gift that we hope will benefit not only our school but also future generations.

YES-O Cleanup Drive with a Purpose! 💚🧹

In partnership with Barangay Sillawit, our YES-O officers and members held our monthly cleanup drive today, July 5, as our way of giving back!

Yesterday, July 4, the barangay helped collect and dispose of our school’s waste, a big help to our environmental efforts!

Special thanks to our Barangay Captain, Michael D. Evangelista, for the continuous support and for being an active partner in keeping our community clean and green!

This cleanup drive is more than just picking up trash, it’s a reflection of the YES-O officers commitment to environmental responsibility, community service, and a much cleaner environment.
