Folk music is the sound of memory.
It carries the stories passed hand to hand, heart to heart.

Weekend Recap ⚠️🌊

This weekend brought DANGEROUS CONDITIONS in the creek, with strong currents and multiple hidden hazards beneath the surface. Despite the water appearing calm, conditions were far from safe and required constant intervention by our lifesavers.

Across the weekend we carried out 42 rescues, 15 first aids, and 55 preventative actions. These numbers are a clear reminder of how quickly things can go wrong.

For your safety, STAY CLOSE TO SHORE AND ONLY SWIM BETWEEN THE RED AND YELLOW FLAGS. Do not underestimate the conditions — flat water does not mean safe water. Follow lifesavers’ instructions at all times and help us prevent serious incidents before they occur.

Safety Message//
- The ocean doesn't care how well you can swim.
- The ocean doesn't care you have a family to go home to
- The ocean doesn't care you are not swimming between the flags, and no one can see you

Staying safe at the beach starts with a few simple choices — and they make a big difference.

Here are some things you can do to look after yourself and the people you’re with:
🔴 Swim at a patrolled beach
🟡 Check the beach report before you swim
🔴 Look for hazards like rips or drop-offs
🟡 Keep kids within arm’s reach
🔴 Know your limits
🟡 Never mix alcohol and swimming

And most importantly — swim between the red and yellow flags. If we can’t see you, we can’t save you.
