AdCamp 14: Padulong sa Pagtib-ong sang Kulturang Ilonggo (Journey towards the Rebirth of the Ilonggo Culture) : This camp is an annual extensive seminar-workshop for the university’s senior marketing students and will focus on the restored Calle Real. Every year, the senior Marketing students organize the Advertising Camp also known as AdCamp, a one-week interactive seminar that aims to develop th
e potentials and personalities of the students towards product development, Integrated Marketing Communications and International Marketing. This year’s theme is “Padulong sa Pagtib-ong sang Kulturang Ilonggo (Journey towards the Rebirth of the Ilonggo Culture)” and it will feature the restored Calle Real, a Spanish historical spot that is currently under restoration in Iloilo City. AdCamp Katorse is not like any ordinary seminar-workshops that the graduating marketing students from University of the Philippines Visayas attend to burn money. As AdCamp Katorse ends, we expect that students are equipped and ready for the real business world that will be meeting them as soon as they put on their sablay. Remember that all the efforts, time and money that will be spent for this are investments. These are all investments for globally competitive, well-rounded and responsible future marketers. As students labeled as "Iskolars ng Bayan", we hold to the responsibility of giving back the nation what we have been given. Iloilo City has been our home for almost 4 years of our lives. When some of us have been away from home, Iloilo City became our home away from home and we want to take part on making Calle Real to be a well known cultural tourism site. It is time for us to utilize that we have learned in the four corners of our room into making marketing proposals that will help in the improvement of Iloilo City before we step on the real business world and chase our most wanted careers. It is our way of giving back to Iloilo City the comfort, security and love that it has given us. Break-out
Break-out is a part of the income generating projects of AdCamp Katorse to raise money to help lessen the financial cost of the entire AdCamp participants. This is an event of showcasing the top-notch talents, either well exercised or have been dormant for quite a while, that is innate to the graduating marketing students. Before leaving this university, we want to give it our all, break-out of our shell and make a visual statement that we are not purely brain, we too are a treasure box full of talents. This year, Break-out is entitled Break-out: Iconokalike where the students will impersonate the icon of their choice. This will be held on July 30 from 6:00pm-10:00pm at the UPV Audtorium. This is also a part of the IGP. Here, we will practice all the marketing and selling skills we have acquired to sell different products in order to gain profit. All the profits that will be generated will be deducted to the cost that AdCamp will incur to all AdCamp participants.
