Share Love Charities, Inc. Brings Hope and Compassion to PDLs of Police Station 1
On November 29, 2025, in the City of Iloilo, Share Love Charities, Inc., under the leadership of its founder Ms. Arlene Martin, carried out a heartfelt community outreach program at the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) holding facility of Police Station 1 on General Luna Street. The initiative aimed to uplift the spirits of the PDLs, promote emotional and mental well-being, and strengthen community engagement within the facility.
The event began with an inspiring message from Ms. Arlene Martin, who emphasized the importance of compassion and the belief that every individual, regardless of circumstance, deserves dignity, encouragement, and hope. Her words set a warm and welcoming tone that resonated throughout the program.
Pastor Darwin Solanib followed with an uplifting spiritual reflection centered on healing, forgiveness, and personal transformation. His message offered comfort and reassurance to the PDLs, many of whom expressed gratitude for the opportunity to hear words that nurtured their faith and inner strength.
Adding to the day’s meaningful discussions, Dr. Ma. Lourdes Hembra, a psychiatrist, delivered an insightful talk on mental health. She shared practical guidance on stress management, emotional resilience, and the importance of seeking help during difficult times. Her session provided the PDLs with a deeper understanding of their mental and emotional well-being, giving them tools they could use even within the confines of their situation.
Volunteers from Share Love Charities, Inc. played an active role throughout the activity, assisting in organizing the event and ensuring that each participant felt supported and valued.
The community outreach was made possible through the generous assistance of Mr. Robert Uy, owner of Toyota-Iloilo, whose continued support for civic initiatives helped bring the program to fruition. The cleaning materials he donated made a significant impact on the event and were deeply appreciated by both police personnel and PDLs.
Following the talks, Share Love Charities distributed snacks to all PDLs and police personnel within the facility. The simple sharing of food created a warm atmosphere of calm and serenity, allowing volunteers, officers, and PDLs to enjoy a moment of peace and harmony together.
This outreach reflects the ongoing mission of Share Love Charities, Inc. to serve vulnerable and overlooked communities. Through meaningful partnerships and the dedication of its volunteers, the organization continues to spread compassion, provide support, and inspire positive change where it is needed most.
