Every single day, our team pours so much love and effort into saving dogs from the streets. We often get asked: "Why is the adoption process so strict?" 🐕 We want to share a recent story not to highlight the mistakes, but to share a big lesson on why checking the environment is just as important as the interview! We just want to make sure our precious rescues are always safe, healthy, and happy! ❤️✨
📦 A BIG EYE-OPENER FOR EVERYONE / ADOPTION EXPERIENCE
We recently encountered an adoption situation that didn't go quite as planned, but it taught us a very beautiful and valuable lesson:
• THE EXPECTATION: An adopter passed our initial screening with a wonderful heart, wanting to provide a home for two young adult dogs. THIS IS WHY WE CONDUCT INTERVIEWS AS PART OF THE ADOPTION PROCESS—to hear their good intentions and understand their love for animals! 🗣️❤️
• THE REALITY: When the dogs arrived, the setup wasn't fully ready yet. They were temporarily placed in a dark, poorly ventilated back area on a leash with other dogs. Because it was unfamiliar, the environment became a bit too stressful for them. 😢
• THE SIGNS: Very quickly, the dogs started howling and refusing to eat. Thankfully, the adopter communicated with us honestly, and WE IMMEDIATELY GAVE THEM A SAFE SPACE BACK. Right now, they are perfectly happy, healthy, and resting with a trusted foster! 🙏✨
👁️🚫 OUR BIGGEST TAKEAWAY: Even with the best intentions and great conversations during an interview, we realized that doing a physical home check must go hand-in-hand with our process. THIS IS WHY WE CONDUCT INTERVIEWS AS PART OF THE ADOPTION PROCESS—it is the first crucial step, but visiting the place helps us work together with the adopter to prepare the perfect, comfortable space before the dogs arrive! 🏡✨
💡 THE STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS / PROSESO SANG GRUPO
To everyone who wants to adopt from us, here is why we guide you every step of the way, even months or years later:
1. MONTHS & YEARS OF LIFETIME SUPPORT: We don't just say goodbye after adoption! We do continuous, friendly follow-ups and check-ins for months or years to support you and the dog. / Sige gihapon ang amon kamustahan kag bisita bisan binulan ukon tinuig na ang nagligad para magbulig sa adopter! 🗓️
2. EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE UPDATES GROUP: All of our official adopters join our private community group. 3. SITE VERIFICATION AND VISITS: Whenever we drop off a rescue, we take that opportunity to check the sleeping space, ventilation, light, and safety so the dog transitions easily into their new home. / Tinuod nga naga-bisita kag naga-lantaw kita sang puy-an para masiguro nga comfortable kag safe gid sila. 🏡
4. TO OWNERS FACING HARD TIMES: These dogs were rescued from completely different difficult cases. However, this serves as a message to all owners: we know life changes can force you to choose between your home or your pets. We completely understand that hard situations happen, but please, fight for your pets until the end! Verify their next home thoroughly so they remain safe. / Tani fight for them until the end!
