Two days. One shared purpose. Countless stories that moved, challenged, and empowered.
The ? Ambassadors Program brought together young leaders, women, LGBTQIA+ advocates, and victim-survivors from across Mindanao into a space of learning, courage, and solidarity. From the very beginning, the program set a powerful tone grounding participants in human rights, gender awareness, and the urgent call to end gender-based violence.
Through the Atingi Digital Enquirer Kit on Gender-Based Violence, ambassadors explored key concepts on gender, GBV, gendered hate speech, and the real harms experienced by individuals and communities. Sessions were not just informative they were transformative.
Powerful stories from victim-survivors reminded everyone that behind every issue are real lives, real struggles, and real courage. These testimonies became a call to action pushing participants to reflect deeply and respond with empathy and purpose.
Beyond learning, the ambassadors stepped into action. Through interactive workshops such as the Letters to Leaders and the SOGIESC Multistakeholder Meeting Simulation, participants practiced leadership, collaboration, and policy engagement turning knowledge into concrete advocacy skills.
Day 2 extended this learning beyond the walls of the workshop. Ambassadors engaged with communities, listening to peopleโs perspectives and recognizing a common truth: change begins at the grassroots. Awareness remains the first and most powerful step in preventing gender-based violence.
More than the sessions, what truly defined these two days were the connections formed, the safe spaces created, the voices amplified, and the realization that no one is alone in this advocacy.
As the program continues, these ambassadors will bring their learnings back to their communities establishing hubs, raising awareness, and transforming lived experiences into leadership and action.
Together, they are not just participants of a program they are a growing movement.
