𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨. 𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨, 𝙞𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 — 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚.

CREATION CARE becomes more powerful when it is shared, passed on, and lived out.

Through the 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, young people are not only learning how to care for creation — they are being empowered to become advocates, facilitators, and leaders who can inspire others to take action.

When young people are trusted, equipped, and given space to lead, caring for creation becomes more than an activity. It becomes a commitment to bring change in themselves, in their communities, and beyond.

Creation care is not just something we do.
𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲.

We are Eco-Warriors.
We are the next keepers.

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 | 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟱-𝟭𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The Creation Care Lanao together with the MSU Naawan personnel embarked on a Mangrove Benchmarking visit to KGMC (Kapunungan sa Gagmayng Mangingisda sa Concepcion) in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Driven by our desire to strengthen the mangrove-growing initiatives in our churches and communities, we learned from the inspiring journey of Sir Roberto "Ka Dodoy" Ballon, recipient of the Ramon Magsaysay Award, and the KGMC team. Since 1986, Ka Dodoy has led the community in restoring and protecting coastal ecosystems through mangrove reforestation while creating sustainable livelihoods and empowering women and youth.

The benchmarking included learning sessions on mangrove nursery establishment and best planting practices, a tour of their thriving mangrove forest and oyster (talaba) garden, and hands-on experiences in mangrove planting and oyster harvesting.

More than techniques, KGMC shared the heart of their work through their 3 Es: Environment, Economic Access & Sustainability, and Empowerment of the coastal community.

As we return to each of our communities, we carry not only new knowledge but also renewed inspiration to care for God's creation and cultivate communities where both people and nature can flourish.

𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐄𝐜𝐨-𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 | 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟗-𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

For three meaningful days, youth leaders and staff/teachers from 10 Frontline Church Partners (FCPs) across Lanao Cluster (Compassion Philippines) gathered at Tiquiano's Beach Resort, Laguindingan, for the Creation Care Training of Trainers: Eco-Warrior Bootcamp Facilitation, primarily facilitated by the MSU Naawan Office of the Extension Services.

The training aimed to deepen participants' understanding of creation care from both faith and science perspectives, strengthen their facilitation skills, familiarize them with the Eco-Warrior Bootcamp curriculum for children, and equip them to re-echo these lessons in their churches and communities. Each FCP also developed an action plan to continue promoting environmental stewardship beyond the training.

Throughout the bootcamp, participants explored the foundations of creation care through the interconnectedness of all life, the biblical and scientific basis of environmental stewardship, and practical facilitation skills. They then immersed themselves in the four Eco-Warrior mini-lessons:

🌱 Caring for the Planet
♻️ Trash Talk: The 3Rs
🦸 Becoming a Hero for the Earth

The learning culminated in a practicum where each group facilitated a mini-lesson through a micro-teaching showcase, followed by constructive feedback to sharpen their skills. Together, they recited the Eco-Pledge and signed their commitment as Eco-Warriors, pledging to care for God's creation and inspire others to do the same.

On the final day, participants experienced the beauty of God's creation firsthand through a snorkeling activity in the waters of Laguindingan. Witnessing the vibrant marine ecosystem served as a powerful reminder of why creation care matters.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Laguindingan Tourism Office Turismo sa Laguindingan, the Coast Guard Substation Laguindingan, and resort lifeguards for ensuring a safe and memorable snorkeling experience. We are also deeply thankful to the Mindanao State University at Naawan Office of the Extension Services for generously sharing their expertise and passionately facilitating this training.

May this be only the beginning as these newly equipped Eco-Warriors return to their churches and communities to train others, lead environmental initiatives, and faithfully steward God's creation.

Building Resilient Communities, Equipping Churches for Crisis Response

Church leaders, caregivers, and staff from our 11 Frontline Church Partners of Lanao Cluster - CIPH participated in the Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Training facilitated by Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) on July 20-21, 2026, equipping them with essential skills in disaster preparedness and emergency response.

We would like to thank MSU Naawan for partnering with us as we strengthen churches to serve their communities with compassion, preparedness, and hope.

A massive thank you to the 𝗟𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻–𝗟𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 (𝗟𝗟𝗥𝗠𝗦𝗙𝗥) for leading and assisting our runners during the Mangrove Tree Planting right after the Eco Run! 🙌🌱

With your guidance and expertise, we successfully planted 2,800 mangrove seedlings — strengthening our coastline, restoring habitats, and deepening our commitment to creation care. 🌍💚

Your dedication to protecting and nurturing our mangrove ecosystems inspires us to keep running and keep caring for God’s creation. Daghang salamat, true mangrove guardians! 🌊✨
