Through stories, illustrations, activities, and digital resources, we help children recognize risks, understand unsafe situations, and know when and how to seek help.

𝐒𝐔𝐆𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍!: 𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒, 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆

Project E.Y.P.E. (Empowered Youth on Peace Education) of the State of Youth Iligan City (SOYI) is set to advance its peace education efforts through Project Sugilanon, an initiative that seeks to create a space for youth organizations to share experiences, perspectives, and stories from their respective communities.

On September 24, 2026, Yona Quelle Eirene Liguid, Board Member of the College of Arts and Social Sciences of Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), an E.Y.P.E. participant and the lead of the initiative, engaged in discussions with the Institute for Policy Innovation and Leadership (IPIL) and the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao (IPDM) in preparation for the upcoming Project Sugilanon.

Scheduled for October 17, 2026, Project Sugilanon recognizes that different organizations have their own experiences, challenges, and perspectives. The initiative aims to provide a safe and meaningful space where participating organizations can share their community experiences, learn from one another, and foster greater understanding across communities.

The project will also promote meaningful conversations and connections among youth organizations while encouraging participants to appreciate different perspectives and experiences. Through these exchanges, Project Sugilanon seeks to strengthen a sense of understanding and kapwa among participating youth.

As part of Project E.Y.P.E. Phase 2, Project Sugilanon highlights the importance of listening to one another and recognizing the experiences that shape different communities. Through stories and conversations, the initiative seeks to strengthen youth participation in peace education and contribute to a more connected and understanding IITians.

As part of the International Day of Peace, Day 2 of PROJECT E.Y.P.E. marked the end of our two-day journey, but not the end of the lessons, friendships, and connections we have built along the way.

On September 6, the last day of PROJECT E.Y.P.E., we wrapped up two meaningful days filled with learning, connection, and shared experiences centered on peace education.

What started as a gathering of five different student organizations became something more. In just two days, strangers became friends, conversations became meaningful connections, and shared experiences became memories that we will carry with us beyond this project.

Through the activities, discussions, and reflections, we learned that peace is not simply something we talk about. It is something we choose, practice, and bring into our communities every day.

As PROJECT E.Y.P.E. comes to an end, the journey does not stop here. May the lessons we learned and the connections we built continue to inspire us to become young people who listen, understand, lead, and stand for peace.

Day 1 marks the beginning of a meaningful journey toward peace, understanding, and empowered youth leadership.

Together with the five participating school student organizations, what started as a simple gathering quickly became something more, a connection that felt inseparable, even though we had only met for the first time that day.

Through every discussion, activity, and shared experience, we learned lessons that went beyond the sessions. We learned the importance of listening, understanding different perspectives, building trust, and choosing peace even when differences exist.

Day 1 may have ended, but the friendships, lessons, and memories we created will continue to guide us throughout this journey.
